The concert project “Canzonettas Under the Stars” is a summer musical evening dedicated to the beloved tradition of the Italian canzonetta — a genre in which love, the sea, nostalgia, joy and southern temperament come together.
Against the backdrop of the sea and the unique atmosphere of St. Anastasia Island, some of the most popular and beloved songs from the Italian and Neapolitan repertoire will be performed. The programme combines lyrical, passionate and festive works that are part of the golden treasury of world vocal music.
“Canzonettas Under the Stars” will transform St. Anastasia Island into a little Naples by the Black Sea. A summer evening with beloved Italian canzonettas, the sea, romance and music that the audience knows, loves and experiences with the heart.

ANGELS AND DEMONSmusical and stage performance
Where does light end and darkness begin?
Where is the boundary between salvation and temptation?
And is it possible for a person to carry both an angel and a demon within him/herself at the same time?
State Opera – Burgas presents “Angels and Demons” – a large-scale musical and stage spectacle in which soloists, choir, ballet and orchestra build a dramatic journey through the strongest images of good, evil, guilt, temptation and salvation.
The stage becomes a cathedral that gradually collapses; a vision of Walpurgis Night; an empty space between the earthly and the otherworldly; a place where light and darkness struggle not outside of man, but inside him/her.
The performance is based on fragments of iconic works by Gounod, Verdi, Puccini, Mozart and Boito – music in which prayer meets curse, the choir becomes a judge, the ballet – a shadow and a temptation, and Mephistopheles is present as an invisible force that observes, tempts and reminds that evil rarely comes from outside.
“Angels and Demons” is not just a concert.
It is a stage experience.
A mystery about the human soul.
A clash between the cathedral light and the demonic fire.
Between forgiveness and the fall.
Between the voice of the choir and the silence after the last chord.
The program includes fragments of operas by Verdi, Gounod, Boito, Puccini.

The concert project “Canzonettas Under the Stars” is a summer musical evening dedicated to the beloved tradition of the Italian canzonetta — a genre in which love, the sea, nostalgia, joy and southern temperament come together.
Against the backdrop of the sea and the unique atmosphere of St. Anastasia Island, some of the most popular and beloved songs from the Italian and Neapolitan repertoire will be performed. The programme combines lyrical, passionate and festive works that are part of the golden treasury of world vocal music.
“Canzonettas Under the Stars” will transform St. Anastasia Island into a little Naples by the Black Sea. A summer evening with beloved Italian canzonettas, the sea, romance and music that the audience knows, loves and experiences with the heart.

ANGELS AND DEMONSmusical and stage performance
Where does light end and darkness begin?
Where is the boundary between salvation and temptation?
And is it possible for a person to carry both an angel and a demon within him/herself at the same time?
State Opera – Burgas presents “Angels and Demons” – a large-scale musical and stage spectacle in which soloists, choir, ballet and orchestra build a dramatic journey through the strongest images of good, evil, guilt, temptation and salvation.
The stage becomes a cathedral that gradually collapses; a vision of Walpurgis Night; an empty space between the earthly and the otherworldly; a place where light and darkness struggle not outside of man, but inside him/her.
The performance is based on fragments of iconic works by Gounod, Verdi, Puccini, Mozart and Boito – music in which prayer meets curse, the choir becomes a judge, the ballet – a shadow and a temptation, and Mephistopheles is present as an invisible force that observes, tempts and reminds that evil rarely comes from outside.
“Angels and Demons” is not just a concert.
It is a stage experience.
A mystery about the human soul.
A clash between the cathedral light and the demonic fire.
Between forgiveness and the fall.
Between the voice of the choir and the silence after the last chord.
The program includes fragments of operas by Verdi, Gounod, Boito, Puccini.
