31 march 2022 "Carmen" Got The Large Audience At The Opera House On Its Feet
The last day of March brought a festivity caused by empathy with real, exciting, and enriching art in the hall of the State Opera Burgas with the performance of one of the most beloved operas in the world's musical treasury - CARMEN by Georges Bizet.
Under the baton of the unifying energy of maestro Ivan Kozhuharov Ivan Kozhuharov, who was visibly satisfied at the end of the performance / and this is an unequivocal indication of the overall level of performance /, soloists, orchestra - with concertmaster Hristo Belchev, choir - with conductor Nevena Mihaylova, ballet - choreography - Nedko Georgiev, as well as the wonderful young singers from the Children's Choir "Milka Stoeva" with conductor Svetla Stoeva, built a performance at a high artistic level, with a tangible emotional charge.
Mezzo-soprano Daniela Diakova, whose temperament impresses the role of Carmen magnificently, was once again sweeping - a real fury, an amalgam of passion and an irresistible urge for inner freedom, which for her is above love, affection, even the instinct for life.
The tenor Georgi Dinev / guest /, who played the role of Don Jose, brilliantly fit into the emotional arc caused by the stage interaction with the image of the most famous gypsy Carmensita. The baritone Alexander Krunev was traditionally stable - both vocally and as a respectable presence, in the role of bullfighter Escamillo, who won Carmen's feelings and pushed Don Jose to black jealousy with a tragic outcome. Soprano Nona Krasnikova was convincing, emotional, and stylish in the image of Mikaela - the girl with a pure heart and noble impulses, whose beloved Don Jose neglected her because of his uncontrollable passion for the fatal gypsy, enchanted him with charm, audacity, and freedom. The bassist Diman Panchev - in the role of Tsuniga, the baritone Branimir Nedkov - Dankairo, the tenor Yani Nikolov - in the role of Remendado - and both in the images of smugglers were also wonderful, inspired, and completely fitting into the overall impact of the show; bass Kostadin Mechkov - Morales; Carmen's friends: soprano Stefka Hristozova - as Fraskita, Lina Peeva, mezzo-soprano - in the role of Mercedes.
Admiration is also due to the employees of the technical services, who provided a high level of stage vision, lighting, special effects, subtitles, costumes, wigs, and makeup.
At the end of the successful performance, which raised the full hall to its feet, the traditional basket of flowers was presented on behalf of the Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov.
During the intermission of "Carmen", in the lobby of the Opera, as after the performance of "La Traviata", was given the opportunity to toast with a glass of organic wine from the cellars of Thracian legends - as a compliment from winemakers:

The performers were happily surprised after the end of the exciting show by graduates of the Goethe German Language School and their teachers. The young fans asked the soloists questions - about the creative process and the philosophical questions set in the libretto of "Carmen". The students, who showed a visible interest in classical music, said that an interview would be published in the newspaper published by the Journalism Club at the prestigious Burgas school, and took pictures with the artists.
This emotional meeting was a good occasion to share creative experiences, build continuity and cultivate a sense of the messages of classical music and aesthetic taste in the younger generation.
Thanks also to Ms. Tanya Trandeva, class teacher of 5 "a" class at Lyuben Karavelov Primary School - Burgas, who had organized a visit to the students of the performance - this is the way to understand and love classical music - through a direct meeting with her ...
