For the fans of the fine ballet art, the State Opera - Burgas has prepared an exciting surprise on Tuesday, March 29, at 7 pm in the Opera Hall. Sergei Prokofiev's ballet "Cinderella" will take the audience into the fairytale world of Charles Perrault, a favorite storyteller of magical stories, containing not only beautiful sorcery, but also full of faith in the Good Beginning and trust in the ubiquitous power of Justice. The plot of the fairy tale is directed by Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov. The ballet performance is another attestation for the director's insightful vision, for the philosophical coloring - with depth, emotional color and semantic argumentation, of the constructed images, for searching and achieving extreme levels of aesthetic suggestion, for a sophisticated approach to details that intertwine the whole. a picture of a finished beauty. The reconstruction of the production is the work of Galina Kalcheva, who is also a tutor of the ballet troupe at the Burgas Opera.
In the roles of the fairy tale, to the music of Sergei Prokofiev, the Burgas audience will see: Daniela Turtumanova, who debuted in the role of Cinderella, Emil Yordanov, premier soloist of the Sofia Opera and Ballet and the Burgas Opera, will be in the role of Prince. Anelia Ivanova will perform as the Fairy on the stage on Tuesday. In the images of Cinderella's sisters debut: Emona Georgieva, who made a brilliant debut on the Burgas stage in the role of Masha in "The Nutckracker" by PI Tchaikovsky in February this year, and Natalie Ivanova. The staging of "Cinderella" has sentimental value for fans of the unsurpassed set designer and artist Boris Stoynov, who unfortunately is no longer with us. His invisible presence remains on the stage - through the fabulous sets, among which the ballet performance is performed. The attractive costumes of the ballerinas are the work of his wife, also the late Tsvetanka Petkova-Stoynova, and, as always, are characterized by measured splendor, exquisite and precise handwork of every detail and characteristic recognizable style, bearer of the creative role of its creator.
The Cinderella ballet is based on the tale of Charles Perrault. Initially, Tchaikovsky was commissioned to write a ballet based on it, but the composition did not materialize. Sergei Prokofiev wrote his work between 1940 and 1944, interrupted by the events of World War II.
