The plot of one of the most performed musicals in the world based on the play "Pygmalion" by George Bernard Shaw is not only funny, but also brings the much-needed dose of romance, as well as life philosophy.
From the first chords and the lush stage picture, immersing in the unique atmosphere of London - on the square in front of Covent Garden, from where - through a series of misunderstandings and fateful twists and turns, the love between the florist Eliza Doolittle and the professor of phonetics Henry Higgins begins.
Viewers will follow the exciting transformation - of attitudes, expectations, behavior, of breaking rigid frameworks and destroying social myths. And most of all - they will be part of a beautiful modern fairy tale about the romantic halo of love, which is not subject to snobbish prejudices.?The captivating plot is transferred to the Professor's house, where Eliza metamorphoses from a flower girl with a terrible dialect and manners, into a refined lady who is unconditionally accepted by high society at the ball at Buckingham Palace - after a bet by Professor Higgins with Colonel Pickering and a six-month training of the girl. The romantic story ends, of course, with a happy and instructive ending, as befits any fairy tale...
Every link of the production, a thought embedded in the fabric of the storyline, every note, word, phrase, breath, smile and sigh, every conductor's gesture of the undisputed master behind the console - Ivan Kozhuharov, every staging, scenography, choreography and costume design concept, transformed into a feast on stage - everything is with a halo of Broadway brilliance and at the same time - theatrical depth and emotional impact!
On August 13, on the stage of the Summer Theater in Burgas, where the glamorous premiere of the large-scale production took place a year ago, a production of the highest class will be created - scene after scene, like a Hollywood production from the "good old days" - under the all-encompassing directorial eye of Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, who has proven many times that he is a modern thinker and innovator.
Prof. Alexander Tekeliev's production is an emanation of everything that is most constructive, innovative, and at the same time - based on the best of traditions, that can be created, presented and built upon in a performance. The full halls and the reaction of the audience in different cities prove it. All components of "My Fair Lady" - direction, brilliant overall appearance - the scenography is the work of Ivan Tokadzhiev, elegant choreography by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anna Pampulova - in the scenes with the ball at Buckingham Palace, whirlwind and gripping with emotional charge - in the scenes on the street; impressive - in terms of variety and as a characteristic vision, over 200 costumes - with author Yana Dvoretska, create an unforgettable performance, presented with tangible desire and fervor by all performers.
The technical support of "My Fair Lady" - sound, lighting, overall vision with multimedia effects, is also at the highest level.
