After the glamorous and emotional premiere performance - on August 2, and the wonderful second performance on August 30 at the Summer Theater - Burgas, a new exciting stage performance of the latest production of the State Opera - Burgas is approaching. 60 years after the world premiere of one of the most popular musicals - "My Fair Lady", with Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn in the lead roles - in the film version, a performance of the famous Broadway title is coming on the stage of the Burgas Opera House - on October 9, Wednesday, from 7 p.m.
The plot of one of the most performed musicals in the world is not only funny but also brings a much-needed dose of romance and life philosophy. Every link of the production, embedded in the fabric of the storyline thought, every note, word, phrase, breath, smile and sigh, every conducting gesture of the undisputed master behind the desk - Ivan Kozhuharov, every directorial, scenographic, choreographic, and costuming concept turned into the feast on stage - everything has the aura of Broadway glamor and at the same time - theatrical depth and emotional impact.
On October 9, Wednesday, it will be recreated again - scene after scene, like a Hollywood production from the "good old days", a production of the highest class - under the all-encompassing directorial gaze of Assoc. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev has repeatedly proven that is a modern thinker and innovator - with taste, depth of interpretation, and a range of expressive means. Magnificent - both with an overall perception and with every detail in its place, are: the scenography by Ivan Tokadzhiev, skilfully combined with multimedia, the costumes - over 200 in number - by Yana Dvoretska, the choreography - by Assoc. Dr. Anna Pampulova. All performers will be wonderful on stage on Wednesday – soloists, orchestra, choir, and ballet. The performance "My Fair Lady" is an intriguing interpretation of the popular work - according to the canons of our time, with a dose of provocation, avant-garde scenography, and impressive costumes. The conductor of the choir, who has an important role in the stage action, is Alexander Chepanov, Ani Tokadzhieva is the author of the 3D mapping, the assistant director - Lina Peeva, the accompanist - is Igor Kiriyanov.
The famous master behind the console Ivan Kozhuharov, the stage conductor, reveals - with his typical perfectionism and sense for the essential components of a quality performance, that the musicians of the orchestra play with great pleasure, achieving a real Hollywood sound, which is completely in the spirit of the musical "My lovely lady'.
The line-up of the performance of "My Fair Lady" on October 9 is different from the premiere. All the soloists are expected to be excellent again, as well as the artists of the Burgas Opera, the singers from the choir, and the musicians from the wonderful-sounding orchestra - completely in Broadway style. These wonderful ballet dancers presented whirlwind characteristic dances, as well as sophisticated charming waltzes.
The musical, apart from the philosophical line and funny moments, is above all a story about love – denied, ridiculed, carefully hidden, but stronger than any prejudice, omnipresent.
Delightful mezzo-soprano Joanna Kadijska makes her debut as street flower seller Eliza Doolittle transformed into a sophisticated lady under the expert professional eye of phonetics professor Henry Higgins. The tenor Marcho Apostolov /guest/, soloist of the National Music Theater "Stefan Makedonski", will again be fully in his inherent role of an aristocrat with manners, style, and class - as Professor Higgins. Baritone Yordan Hristozov will make his debut in the role of Colonel Pickering. Bassist Kostadin Mechkov will perform in the comic role of Eliza's father - Alfred Doolittle, which requires not only vocal and artistic skills, but also choreographic mastery. The soprano Stefka Hristozova will once again play the role of Henry Higgins' aristocratic mother, who is like a "good fairy" for her son's conflicted relationship - a sworn bachelor - with his student Eliza Doolittle. Shmilena Sultanova, soprano, will perform as Mrs. Hill, the mother of Freddie Hill, a young man hopelessly in love with Eliza. In the images of the two cute drunkards, Doolittle's friends: Harry and Jamie - Georgi Bozveliev and Miroslav Dimitrov enter, Alexander Perperiev will play the role of the Innkeeper, Milen Georgiev - -Severyak, Bozhidar Kmetov - Yuzhnyak, Milen Dinolov - Zapadnyak, Darina Zapryanova - Mrs. Hopkins, Irina Dobrovolskaya – Queen of Transylvania, Emil Peychev – Ambassador.
Congratulations are due to all the artists who, in the long rehearsal process, have mastered the dialect language to perfection, which, according to the director - Assoc. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, is a collaboration of the dialects of several regions in Bulgaria, such as the characteristic speech, causing uproarious laughter in the audience is part of the show's charisma. All the artists, except for the professionals from the ballet company, mastered the swirling dances surprisingly well and performed them.

All the artists, except for the professionals from the ballet company, have mastered the swirling dances surprisingly well and perform them with visible pleasure. The musicians of the orchestra are also impeccable - with concertmasters Vanya Zlateva and Hristo Belchev, for whom the performance is tantamount to real pleasure from the wonderful score, presented masterfully and with mood. The artists from the choir are also magnificent - both in terms of sound and perfectly performed artistic tasks. And the ballet will once again live up to the best Broadway traditions.
