14 october 2022 The Ballet Extravaganza "Cinderella" on the Burgas Stage Again
For fans of the exquisite art of ballet, the State Opera - Burgas has prepared an exciting aesthetic experience - on October 17, Monday, at 7 p.m. in the Opera hall. The ballet to the music of Sergei Prokofiev "Cinderella" will transport the audience to the fairy-tale world of Charles Perrault, the favorite narrator of magical stories, containing not only beautiful enchantments, but also charging with faith in the Good Beginning and trust in the omnipresent power of Justice. The plot of the fairy tale was directed by Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov. The ballet performance is another attestation for the insightful vision of the director, for the philosophical coloring - with depth, emotional color and meaningful argumentation, of the constructed images, for searching and achieving extreme levels of aesthetic suggestion, for a refined approach to the details that are woven into the overall a picture of a finished beauty. The reconstruction of one of the most impressive productions of the Burgas Opera is the work of Galina Kalcheva, tutor of the ballet ensemble at the Burgas Opera. It has preserved the parameters and character of the author's style. In March of this year, after a 4-year absence from the Burgas Opera, the production made a triumphant return to the stage of the seaside cultural institute. In July "Cinderella" was presented with great success to an international audience and on the stage of the Amphitheater in Sozopol.
In the roles characterized by originality, slightly aside from the classical choreography, as well as gushing expressiveness, which will overflow into the fairy-tale plot, the Burgas audience will see: Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova, who made a remarkable debut in the role of Cinderella - the girl with a difficult fate , whose kind heart leads her to a life she never dreamed of. She is as graceful as a statuette, stable, precise and radiating fragility and inner strength at the same time. Daniel Tichkov, premier ballet dancer of the Burgas Opera, will play the role of the Prince. He and Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova were in a brilliant tandem in the roles during the performance in July in Sozopol.
Anelia Ivanova will once again be beautiful, stylish and commanding respect - in the role of the Fairy, the good fairy who rewards Cinderella for her human gesture towards her when she is disguised as a beggar. In the image of Cinderella's sister will be Emona Georgieva, who was a real artistic fury with a filigree technically sustained stage presentation of her debut in the role in March. The other sister will again be performed by Natalie Ivanova, well-known to the Burgas audience, who also made a successful debut during the March performance in the role and presented the characteristic grotesque image with artistry, flair, taste, mood and stability. The image of the Stepmother will be Elena Georgieva - for her, the performance in March was also her debut, she was colorful, emotional, with a fresh sense of humor, expressed through her body language. The role of the Dance Teacher is played by the soloist of the ballet troupe, Teodor Tsakov, who will perform with his usual emotional range and mood. Completely impressive in the overall concept and directorial skills, a strong artistic presence woven into the overall picture of the beautiful ballet performance, will be on Monday night all the soloists and artists of the ensemble. Kiril Filipov enters the image of the Tailor. Cinderella's father will be Svetlan Nikolov. Yana Berduta and Iva Kavrkova will perform as Seamstresses. The enchanting waltz-mazurka features: Yana Berduta, Teodor Tsakov, Iva Kavrkova, Kiril Filipov, Ilina Konstantinova, Stefan Tipikov, Patricia Soares, Stoyan Furtunov, Ivana Fialkovska, Bianka-Helen Giovanelli, Maria Gabarova, Kalina Nedelcheva, Gergana Georgieva, Nikol Marenova . Artists from the ensemble of the State Opera - Burgas also take part in the beautiful ballet extravaganza. The fairy tale story of Cinderella, the Prince, the Stepmother, the sisters, the Fairy and all the other participants in the beautiful extravaganza will be told excitingly, professionally, with original handwriting and with the glamor and professionalism necessary for any class event on the stage of the Burgas Opera on Monday. The polyphonic beauty and complexity of Prokofiev's music, the intelligently presented directorial decisions of Prof. Mehmedov /the assistant director of the ballet production is Petar Tikholov/, the thorough rehearsal work of Galina Kalcheva, the impressive sumptuous costumes, the special effects, the lighting, the overall perception of the performance will be again a certificate for an event at the highest aesthetic level. Those present in the Opera hall will be immersed in the atmosphere of the stunning scenography of - the episodes alternate like lively scenes from paintings, with changing frames - as an analogue of the reality of life framed in different moods and circumstances, embodied in wonderful fairy tales.
The production of "Cinderella" has sentimental value for fans of the unsurpassed scenographer and artist Boris Stoinov, who is unfortunately no longer with us. His invisible presence remains on the stage - through the fairy-tale sets, among which the ballet production is performed. The attractive costumes of the ballerinas are the work of his wife, also the late Tsvetanka Petkova-Stoynova, and, as always, they are distinguished by measured opulence, exquisite and precise hand-crafting of every detail and a characteristic, recognizable style that bears the creative scope of its creator.
The ballet "Cinderella" is based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault. Initially, the writing of a ballet work based on it was assigned to Tchaikovsky, but the composition was not realized. Sergei Prokofiev wrote his work between 1940 and 1944, interrupted by the events of World War II.
Tickets for the ballet performance "Cinderella" can be purchased at the box office of the Opera House, the "Chasovnika" box office /in front of the "Bulgaria" hotel/, in the Grabo and Eventim networks.
