On November 24, Friday, at 7 p.m. on the stage of the State Opera House - Burgas, under the baton of the guest conductor - maestro Sunai Muratov, the audience will be given the opportunity to relive the eternal story of suddenly ignited passion, repulsion, emotional rehabilitation, a clash of two worlds that irresistibly attract each other, and devastating feelings destroy them - with the opera "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. With the emblematic opera by Bizet, this year's edition of the "Sanctuary Opera" under the baton of Grigor Palikarov was closed, with tickets sold out days before the performance. And Sunay Muratov conducts the two titles from the Thracian Begliktash festival in 2022 - "Madame Butterfly" and "Masquerade Ball". Maestro Muratov began his professional musical career as an orchestra conductor even before graduating from the Academy of Music, he was deputy conductor of the "Madrigal" choir, performed as a conductor with the orchestras of Vidin, Pleven, Burgas, Varna, and Sofia, participated in festivals and made successful tours in countries such as Germany, Austria, France, and Spain. From 1995 to 1997, he was the conductor of the orchestra of the State Opera - Burgas. In 1996, he was a guest conductor at the Sofia Opera and Ballet and worked with Boris Hinchev. Sunday Muratov has been working at the General Directorate of the State Opera and Ballet in Ankara since the end of 1999 as an orchestra and choir conductor.

The dramatic plot of one of the most popular operas in the world "Carmen" always sounds relevant. Regardless of the era in which they live, people invariably carry identical feelings and aspirations, and their relationships are based on universal human norms that are not subject to time. The opera has become iconic - not only because of Georges Bizet's beautiful music, characterized by an exquisite melodic line, as well as musical motifs that have gained popularity in their own right but also because of the story, which continues to excite and evoke diverse feelings.

On November 24, the Burgas audience will have the opportunity to empathize with the debut of the lovely mezzo-soprano Ioana Kadiyska in the role of Carmen, in a stage partnership with the tenor Daniel Damyanov, soloist of the Sofia Opera and Ballet and the Burgas Opera, who will take on the role of Don Jose - torn by internal contradictions, wandering between the sweeping passion for Carmen and the dictates of tradition.

Joanna Kadiyska, who is the embodiment of Carmen - in terms of vision and temperament, will recreate the image, which is an amazing combination of passion for the joys of life and an irresistible urge for inner freedom, which for her is above love, affection, even the instinct for life. At the end of October of this year, the Burgas audience had the pleasure of watching and listening to her in the extremely exciting performance of "Madame Butterfly" by Giacomo Puccini, in which she played the role of Suzuki. During the summer season, the winner of the first prize of the First National Competition for Young Opera Singers with International Participation "Stoyan Popov" 2022 Ioana Kadiyska played the role of Fenena in the impressive performance under the stars of Strandzha in the second festival evening of the "Sanctuary Opera" in Begliktash - in the opera "Nabucco" by Giuseppe Verdi. The charismatic singer, who is distinguished not only by personal charm but also by talent and a beautiful rich timbre, also performed wonderfully in the whirlwind role of Rosina in the opera "The Barber of Seville" by Gioacchino Rossini - on the stage of the Summer Theater in Burgas, within at the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov" 2023, as well as in the magnificent large-scale concert-spectacle "Love, champagne and can-can" - at the official closing of the festival and celebration of 60 years and 40 years of stage activity of the great Bulgarian tenor, director and TV presenter Mario Nikolov, as well as in the "Together for Ivan" charity concert, in which soloists of the Burgas Opera took part.

The excitement of the young soloist of the Burgas Opera Ioana Kadiyska before the performance is understandable, this is the message she sends to the fans of one of the most beloved opera titles: "Opera passions and magic - this is "Carmen" - a symbol of the courage to live and love with the full charge of your heart. It is a great honor and responsibility for me to be a part of this performance, in which every note and every word is filled with emotion and passion, which I will gladly convey to you.
