04 july 2023 A Brilliant Start To The Competition "Sara-Nora Prima"

This evening in the hall of the Burgas State Opera, the first international ballet competition "Sara-Nora Prima" INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION SARA-NORA PRIMA 2023 was officially opened, organized by the International Ballet Association SARA - NORA PRIMA, State Opera - Burgas, with the assistance of the Municipality of Burgas and the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.
The inspiration behind the large-scale ballet forum, which gathers 73 participants in the competition program and another 60 - in the International Ballet Academy SARA-NORA MASTER / BOURGAS 2023, is Sara-Nora Krysteva, prima ballerina and the longest-serving director of the ballet to the Sofia Opera and Ballet, which, together with Evgenia Trofimchuk-Veda Evgenia Veda - president of the International Association "Sara-Nora Prima", and all the members of the authoritative international jury, are the creators of a magnificent undertaking that will surely have a brilliant future.
The competition is only for professionals, the ballet dancers are from 12 countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Germany, Serbia, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Greece, Russia, and the USA. In the jury, from the Bulgarian side, are Marta Petkova Petkova, prima ballerina of and director of the ballet troupe at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, Prof. Dr. Masha Ilieva Maria Ilieva, prima ballerina, former director of the National Opera and Ballet, teacher at the National music academy "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov", and Nikola Hadjitanev - premier ballet dancer at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, a teacher at NATFIZ "Krastyo Sarafov", as well as choreographer Freddy Franzuti, Gregor Hatala, director of the Vibe international ballet competition in Vienna and Seoul, Kai Kiop - director of the ballet school in Estonia, Maria Volodina - soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, Serbian prima ballerina Anna Pavlovich and her colleague Konstantin Kostyukov.
The official opening was attended by the Mayor of Burgas Municipality - Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, Mrs. Diana Savateva, Deputy Mayor for Culture, Tourism, and Sports, journalists, participants in the international forum, and high-ranking guests of the event.
Assoc. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev Alexander Tekeliev, director of the State Opera - Burgas, addressed all the participants and those present in the Opera hall with words of confidence that this forum will become a good tradition, and for our city and the Burgas opera, as a cultural institute, will always be a kind and responsive host of the next editions of the competition and the academy.
For his part, Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, who is the patron of the prestigious international ballet forum, also expressed his undisguised satisfaction with the fact that Burgas is currently the ballet center of Bulgaria and has no doubts about the brilliant future and professional development of all participants in the ballet forum.
The leader of the official ceremony was the charming Maria Tabakova, choreographer, director, and chairman of the Tourism Commission of the Municipal Council.
A basket of flowers was presented to the organizers of the ballet forum on behalf of Mr. Dimitar Nikolov.

The first competition program is tomorrow, July 5, at 6 pm in Opera hall.
