On April 12, Wednesday, at 7 p.m., the traditional Easter concert, dedicated to the brightest Christian holiday, will take place in the Opera Hall. The renowned maestro Yordan Dafov, the winner of the "Golden Century" award of the Ministry of Culture, is once again behind the conductor's desk. The talented and respected conductor is among the distinguished figures honored for their contribution to the development of culture and the affirmation of national identity. Maestro Yordan Dafov celebrated his 83rd birthday in February this year, and, in addition to numerous greetings from colleagues and like-minded people, he was awarded an official congratulatory address on behalf of Maestro Nayden Todorov, Minister of Culture from the official cabinet. Yordan Dafov also conducts the Christmas concert at the end of 2022, to a full house with an international audience. The upcoming concert is expected to attract a wide range of classical music fans.

The program of the concert on April 12 will feature Symphony No. 8 /"Unfinished"/ in B minor by the great Austrian composer Franz Schubert, one of the founders of romanticism in music. It is a little-known fact that one of Schubert's most recognizable works was not recognized while the composer was alive. In the musical text of the "Unfinished" symphony, all the most characteristic features of the Romantic period in the art are encoded

The second work in the program of the Easter concert is also emblematic - "Requiem" in D minor - for soloists, choir, and orchestra, by the great representative of the Vienna Classical School, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Soloists in "Requiem" will be: Joana Zhelezcheva - soprano, Joana Kadiyska - mezzo-soprano, Andreya Mirchev - tenor and Kostadin Mechkov - bass. The concertmaster will be Vanya Zlateva, who last year was awarded the highest honor of the Union of Bulgarian Music and Dance Artists - "Crystal Necklace". The choir of the State Opera - Burgas, conducted by Nevena Mihailova, also took part in the Easter concert.

Mozart's "Requiem" is the last work of the genius composer who left the earthly world at only 35 years old and left behind a huge musical wealth after his short life. "Requiem" was completed after his death by his student Franz Xavier Süssmeyer at the request of Mozart's widow Constanta. For many years, it was believed that the entire original score was written by Wolfgang Amadeus, a legend diligently maintained by Constanta. After the original manuscript of the work was found years later, the wife publicly acknowledged Süssmeyer's role in completing the work. However, the Requiem remains the most iconic work of Mozart's work. The music and messages of the great Viennese classical school composer's "Requiem" are unparalleled. It is as if the heavenly settlements dissolve and give limited access to us, the humble earthly creatures, to the higher levels of collective memory, where all human emotion and wisdom, accumulated over the centuries, have been gathered...

In the days leading up to the holidays, the State Opera - Burgas wishes all fans of the musical art harmony, peace, prosperity, and love - as the most philanthropic dimension of God, re-created in earthly affairs!

Tickets for the two festive concerts can be purchased at the Opera box office, at the "Chasovnika" box office/in front of the "Bulgaria" building,
