24 august 2024 CARMEN - 24 August, PHOTOS

On the evening of August 24, the last event of the "Opera of the Sanctuary" - the immortal masterpiece of Georges Bizet OPERA ON THE SANCTUARY'24 - CARMEN / OPERA ON THE SANCTUARY'24 - CARMEN, made the Strandzha mountain bear the echo of the wonderful music, telling the legend of the disastrous passion stronger than duty.
All the soloists, orchestra, choir, and ballet were magnificent, under the direction of Sunai Muratov, who united the performers in the presentation of an inspired, professionally sustained, and aesthetic spectacle.
Admirations for all who have reached the pinnacle of art - an exciting interaction between audience and initiates in the codes of creating beauty embodied in music, dance, and artistic presence.
A strong emotional charge was generated tonight and the international audience sympathized, felt, and appreciated it.

The eminent Bulgarian mezzo-soprano Daniela Dyakova, after the irrevocably betrayed role of Amneris in OPERA ON THE SANCTUARY'24 - AIDA / OPERA ON THE SANCTUARY'24 - AIDA a week ago, was also delightful and extremely effective tonight in her crowning role as the rebellious Carmen, wearing a huge a charge of fiery passion and radiating power and urge for inner freedom. And this time her Carmen enchanted the audience - with a powerful rich voice and mesmerizing presence.
Tenor Daniel Damyanov presented a highly emotional amalgam of uncontrollable passion, denial of generally accepted values, blind surrender, black jealousy, disappointment, and urge for revenge, which led to an inevitable tragic end - apart from a strong psychological impact, he conquered the audience with a brilliant vocal form.
Uncompromising - both as a construction of the role of the proud bullfighter Escamilio, who does not tolerate competition in the arena and in love and as a vocal achievement, was the baritone Valery Turmanov.

Completely merging with the image of the beautiful girl Mikaela, a symbol of purity, empathy and readiness for self-sacrifice in the name of the beloved who betrayed her, was the soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova - her gentle voice sounded angelic over the rock massifs.
Delightful and completely immersed in the exciting performance telling the tragic story were also the other soloists, each of them with an important role in the development of the plot: the bass Diman Panchev - in the role of Officer Zuniga, the baritone Andrey and the mezzo-soprano Maria Yurkovski - as Dankairo and Mercedes - great debuts; the tenor Yani Nikolov - as the smuggler Remendado; the soprano Maria Slavova - convincing and charismatic in the image of Fraskita; the bass Kostadin Mechkov - as Morales.

Congratulations to the musicians of the orchestra and the artists of the choir - all of them, together with the soloists, built the highly impactful performance under the starry dome of Strandzha.
Admirations for the employees from the administration of the Municipality of Primorsko and for all the specialists from the technical services of the Burgas State Opera, who carried out for the fifth year in a row the extremely complex logistics of the music festival on the mountain terrain! Thanks - for the perfect dubbing, to engineer Kiril Yanev from Studio "Balkanji"!

At the end of the emotional performance, a basket of flowers was presented on behalf of the mayor of the Municipality of Primorsko - Mr. Ivan Gaikov, who attended the event together with colleagues from the municipal administration.
