The seventh performance of the "Soloists of the State Opera - Burgas" series is coming up on Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m. in the lobby of the Opera House. The vocal concert will color the audience with different shades of mood in the sophisticated space of the lobby of the Burgas Cultural Institute, which has already established itself as a preferred place for chamber music events. The program will feature pre-classical works, arias, and duets from classical opera works, as well as popular canzonets. In the next event of the chamber series of the Burgas Opera, which began in October 2023, the soloists will be soprano Ioana Jelecheva and tenor Daniel Damyanov, on the piano - Igor Kiriyanov.
In February of this year, the opera prima Ioana Zhelezcheva sang on her home stage - in the town of Shumen, in front of a full hall with an enthusiastic audience in a performance of Giacomo Puccini's masterpiece "Madame Butterfly", together with her colleagues from the Burgas Opera.
In the past 2023, Ioana Zhelezcheva had her star stage incarnations in the opera "Masquerade Ball" by Verdi - on the stage of the Opera House, the Summer Theater, and at the Festival "Scene of the Ages" - the city of Veliko Tarnovo, under the baton of Ivan Kozhuharov. as Tosca in the opera of the same name by Puccini, in partnership with Prof. Niko Isakov and Valery Georgiev - in a performance from the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakerov", also conducted by Ivan Kozhuharov. Joana Zhelezcheva was also irresistible among the ancient megaliths of Begliktash - in the Verdi operas "Nabucco" /under the baton of Ivaylo Krinchev/ and "Troubadour" /conductor - Deyan Pavlov/, in the festival evenings of the "Opera On The Sanctuary" under the starry dome of Strandzha.
On August 17 of this year, she will make a new appearance on the picturesque open stage of the Thracian sanctuary - the famous soprano will take on the emblematic image of the Ethiopian princess Aida in Verdi's opera of the same name, conducted by Prof. Dr. Grigor Palikarov.
In the past year 2023, the remarkable lyric-dramatic soprano also participated in the large-scale Opera Gala under the baton of Slavil Dimitrov - on the stage of the Opera House, as well as in several chamber projects of the Burgas Cultural Institute. The images sculpted by Ioana Zhelezcheva are memorable and capture the senses in a complex way - with the impact of her beautiful timbre and overall appearance.
In a few days, on April 5, in the hall of the Burgas Opera, Ioana Zhelezcheva will sing at a large-scale opera gala "Viva Puccini", dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth and 100th anniversary of the death of Giacomo Puccini, under the baton of Maestro Dimitar Kosev.
The other outstanding performer at the vocal concert on Saturday is the tenor Daniel Damyanov, who, in addition to the Burgas Opera, is also a soloist at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, where he recently made his debut in Luigi Cherubini's opera Medea, which is being staged for the first time in Bulgaria – in the role of Jason. On April 12, he will be reincarnated in one of his signature roles – Samson and the opera "Samson and Delilah" by Camille Saint-Saëns, in partnership with the mezzo-soprano Daniela Diakova, for whom the image of Delilah is also emblematic. At the end of November 2023, Daniel Damyanov was in another crowning role of his - that of Don Jose in the dramatic large-scale opera by Georges Bizet "Carmen". The tenor was hyper-emotional and sensitive to the dramatic storyline, building a skillfully balanced, vocally padded image of a madly in love man who wanders between love and debt, with masterfully constructed dynamics and a rich palette of feelings - from uncontrollable passion - to black paints of the jealousy and abyss of revenge. The stage synchronicity with all the artists on the stage was palpable - theatrical magic was achieved. In the concert program on Saturday, the tenot will also perform a Duet of Don José and Micaela from the opera Carmen. Daniel Damyanov also participated in the solemn concert performance dedicated to the 60th anniversary of another great Bulgarian singer - Alexander Krunev, baritone.
