For four years, the opera by Giacomo Puccini "Bohemia" was not presented on the stage of Burgas. And tonight, the performance of one of the most musically and emotionally beautiful works returned vividly and memorably - under the baton of the famous conductor Ivan Kozhuharov, who never hid his bias towards the philosophical depth of Puccini's music, with a beautifully fused artistic composition - like a common rainbow of feelings and a wonderful voice combination!
Each of the young opera artists narrated with vocal richness, presence, invested trepidation, empathizing with the tragic story in a uniquely soulful way—warm, natural, flowing, touching, purifying, returning us to that calmness of youth, when the urges are alive, dreams are winged, and hearts are uncorrupted.
All the soloists were superb: the magnificent guests: Reynaldo Droz from Venezuela, a lyrical tenor with a beautifully warm voice and breadth of emotional world; the impressive - both with posture and with the power and mastery of the voice Mindaugas Mishkinis from Lithuania, whom the Burgas audience remembers beautifully from his brilliant performance at the Second Competition for Young Opera Singers "Stoyan Popov" 2023 - his participation in the performance of the Burgas Opera was part of his prize.
The soloists of the State Opera - Burgas also deserved applause and respect: the magnificent sopranos Nona Krastnikova - captivating and touching as Mimi, and Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova - a bravura and at the same time - such a warm and sympathetic Musetta; baritone Andrei Yurkovsky - with a successful debut as Shonar, bass Kostadin Mechkov - in the role of Colin, Yordan Hristozov, baritone - in the roles of Benoit and Alcindor, tenor Lyubomir Todorov - Parpignol, bass Petar Tiholov - Mitchnichar and Sergeant.
Congratulations on the brilliant performance of the Chorus of the Opera with conductor Alexander Chepanov, who celebrates his birthday today, and on the beautifully constructed dynamic nuances, in sync with the experiences of the characters in the opera - by the musicians of the orchestra - under the inspired baton of Ivan Kozhuharov, and for the charming young talents who participated colorfully and memorably in the second act of the performance!
Admirations also for all the specialists "behind the scenes" - the technical services that created the authentic atmosphere of the poor apartment in a Parisian district, the bohemian atmosphere of the famous cafe "Museum", the sad romance of the winter night with the footsteps in the snow, heralding the near-tragic end of a good a heart dreaming of love and leaving this world, warmed by a sleeve and affection - of the beloved and his friends, united by the humanity and sympathy of the pure souls, who in their poverty are incredibly generous...

At the end of the exciting performance, baskets of flowers were presented on behalf of Prof. Maria Neikova, Regional Governor, and Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, Mayor of Burgas Municipality. On behalf of the State Opera - Burgas, flowers were given to all the soloists - as a sign of appreciation for the invested creative charge in building the show and undoubted professionalism.
