09 august 2022 An exceptional "Tosca" On The Stage Of Open-Air Theater

Exclusive TOSCA WITH TANYA IVANOVA / TOSCA WITH TANYA IVANOVA on the stage of Summer Theater Burgas - Official page!
Another exciting performance from the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov" was created this evening /August 9th/.
The audience followed the dramatic storyline with a tragic outcome - the story of the beautiful, daring, burning with love and passion prima donna Floria Tosca and the artist Mario Cavaradossi.
The story of two people who dared to defy the cruel rules of society at the beginning of the 19th century in Rome is always touching and moving.
Their happiness is overshadowed by the ruler who is used to getting any beauty he wants without hindrance - Baron Scarpia.
Under the baton of maestro Ivan Kozhuharov, who a week ago conducted a magnificent "AIDA" WITH SANJA ANASTASIA on the same stage, tonight a shocking performance was presented, with a spiritual charge, shifting the layers of consciousness and rearranging the emotional world. The orchestra sounded impressive and balanced, the musicians built precise dynamics, following the dramatic line of the opera, skilfully interpreted by maestro Kozhuharov.
Synchronized with the stage action, skilfully directed by Associate Professor Alexander Tekeliev, Ph.D., were also the effects - video mapping recreating different stages of experiences and emphasizing the symbolism of suffering. Impressive and corresponding to the era and the psychology of the characters were the sets (consultant artist - Ekaterina Drouin) as well as the overall vision of the show, as the soloist costumes were the work of the young talented stage designer Denis Ivanov and were kindly provided by the State Opera - Stara Zagora.
The Burgas audience already had the pleasure of watching the brilliant dramatic soprano Tanya Ivanova - in May in the Opera hall. Tonight she was even more effective in building the tragic image.
Every nuance in the mood of the heroine, the passage through the labyrinth of mental wanderings, the deceptive hope, and the thrill of love was sculpted in an amazing way - with a strong emotional charge, artistry, and a masterfully crafted vocal part.
In the image of Mario Cavaradossi, Tosca's beloved was the brilliant tenor Ivaylo Mihaylov. There was a stage spark between the two artists who recreated the entire spectrum of feelings containing the beauty of their doomed love.
And Cavaradossi's famous Aria in the Third Act earned a standing ovation from the audience after the impressive performance.
The guest tenor on the Burgas stage showed wonderful artistic presence, professionalism, and warm emotionality.
In the image of the ruthless Baron Scarpia, chief of the Police in Rome, the famous baritone Marjan Jovanoski appeared on stage. He was again absolutely convincing in building the image of the famous villain.
Marjan Jovanoski was extremely impressive - with the emotional resonance caused by the beautiful timbre and mastery of the voice.
The image of the escaped prisoner Cesare Angelotti, who was presented colorfully and emotionally by the bass Delyan Slavov, was also memorable.
In the overall picture of the exciting performance, the bass Kostadin Mechkov, in the role of Klisarya, the tenor Yani Nikolov — as Spoleta, the bass Petar Tiholov — in the image of Sharone /he is the assistant director of the production/, Ivan Grozev, bass - as Jailer, Lina Peeva - Shepherd.
In the impressive emotional and aesthetic impact, the orchestra - with concertmaster Hristo Belchev, the choir of the Burgas State Opera, with conductor Nevena Mihaylova, as well as the wonderful young singers from the Children's Choir "Milka Stoeva" with conductor Svetla Stoeva Choir Burgas - played an integral part.
All artists inspired the sad story of tragic love, whose charge is stronger than death.
At the end of the performance, the traditional floral greeting was presented on behalf of the mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, as well as flowers on behalf of Prof. Maria Neikova, regional governor.
