"We will present the composer's last concert in Athens on July 3, 1990. A little later, he suffered a stroke, and without knowing it was the end of his career, but it was also a peak achievement in it, because in the last years of his life, he stopped working with all his chamber ensembles and decided to devote himself to working with various orchestras. In this concern, he performs two of his works for bandoneon and orchestra, as well as the popular tango "Adios, Nonino". This is a truly balanced program that shows that the bandoneon is not only the instrument that is the soul of tango, but also deserves to be on the same stage with a symphony orchestra!" said the exceptional young musician Stoyan Karaivanov in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio Burgas earlier today.
And tonight, being in the role of host of the concert PIAZZALO - THE LAST CONCERT ...! / PIAZZOLLA - THE LAST CONCERT ... in the hall of the Burgas State Opera led the numerous audience into the world of Piazzolla's music - rich in emotions, carrying a palette of themes, messages, sounds, hypnotizing, touching, burning, nostalgically beautiful and insanely sensual.
The eminent Bulgarian bandoneonist with world awards and concert activity in several countries: Austria, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, etc., plays a historical Alfred Arnold "semi nacarado" bandoneon from 1935, which is one of the few instruments preserved in perfect condition. This evening, under the inspired baton of Prof. Deyan Pavlov and in absolute creative synchrony with the musicians of the Burgas Opera Orchestra, he showed, impressively and convincingly, the full range of possibilities of the relic instrument, approaching the music of it as a sacred act, like any dedicated artist.
Stoyan Karaivanov managed to sculpt pictures through music, to sadden, move, elevate the spirit, caress the senses, and awaken the inner voice that leads to enlightenment.
The silent hall followed the thread of history in each of the works, experiencing a special evening that they will certainly remember for a long time.
Congratulations for the professionalism and the profound approach in the interpretation of the complex music, carrying polyvalent messages - for the conductor Deyan Pavlov, the orchestra members - with concertmaster Hristo Belchev, the two delightful pianists - Iliana Todorova Iliana Todorova and Nina Reichel, and for the intelligent Burgas audience, who chose to experience a cultural event of the highest aesthetic level in the hall, in front of the pleasant summer evening outside.

The concert program included: "Tres Tangos" for bandoneon and orchestra - uniquely presented tango rhythms, containing the entire spectrum of sensuality; "Adios Nonino" – as a symbol of filial love and adoration for the role of the father, imbued with the pain of the loss of the composer's parent; "Aconcagua", considered a peak in the composer's work - Concerto for bandoneon and orchestra - dedicated to Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America.
Stoyan Karaivanov was called several times to bow - again, and again, and performed an encore - a work by his teacher, composer of the famous melody "Lambada" - Juanjo Mosalini.
The event was honored with the presence of representatives of the Municipal Administration and a basket of flowers on behalf of the Mayor of Burgas Municipality - Mr. Dimitar Nikolov.
