Unusual year, unusual weather, unusual for June cold and incessant rain, but usually high artistic level, achieved by the soloists, the orchestra, people and ballet of the State Opera - Burgas on Tuesday evening / June 15 / at the Summer Theater.
The concert performance "Johann Strauss Gala" - the third event in the program of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov", performed by the Burgas Opera and the Municipality of Burgas, was a testament to the class, interpretive skills, taste in the selection of works in the program and invaluable quality for the artist - adaptability, and ability to show the optimal of themselves in all circumstances.
The temperatures were appropriate in April, not June, the people in the audience were dressed in winter clothes. But the conductor, soloists, orchestrators, choristers, and ballet dancers were stylish and beautiful - as usual. And they accepted the unfavorable circumstances as a challenge, through which they proved their professionalism.
The soloists of the State Opera - Burgas deserved sincere admiration: the sopranos Lyudmila Mihailova, Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova, and Shmilena Sultanova, the tenor Yani Nikolov, the baritone Yordan Hristozov and the bass Diman Panchev, the orchestra, under the baton of conductor Tsanislav Nestorov with the choir and ballet dancers, with tutor Galina Kalcheva.
The rich program of the operetta gala included: overture from the operetta "Gypsy Baron", Aria by Barinkai, performed by Yani Nikolov, Aria by Safi, performed by Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova, Duet of Safi and Barinkai, performed by Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova and Yani Nikolov, Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova, Shmilena Sultanova, Yani Nikolov, Verses of Homonai - Diman Panchev; choir and ballet from the operetta "Viennese Blood", Duet of Arsena and Mirabella from the same Ostrich operetta, performed by Lyudmila Mihailova and Shmilena Sultanova, Aria of Zhupan, performed by Yordan Hristozov; "Spring Voices", performed by Lyudmila Mihailova; overture from "The Bat", Orlovski's Aria, performed by Shmilena Sultanova, Adela's Aria, performed by Lyudmila Mihailova, Rosalinda's Aria, performed by Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova, regiment "Thunder and Lightning", presented by the ballet ensemble of the Burgas Opera. The brilliant code of the evening was the festive toast "Champagne is a gift from God" from the Ostrich operetta "The Bat".
With the Johann Strauss Gala, the audience experienced, albeit at unusual temperatures for the Summer Theater, an event under the sign of brilliance, splendor, Viennese finesse, class, and style.
At the end of the evening, the traditional flower basket was served on behalf of the Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov.
