Paraphrasing the words of Assoc. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev at the official closing of the First International Ballet Competition "Sara-Nora Prima" INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION SARA-NORA PRIMA 2023 and the International Ballet Academy SARA-NORA MASTER / BOURGAS 2023, Burgas State Opera was hosted an exciting "blue summer" that brought a palette of emotions to all who immersed themselves in the incomparable atmosphere created in recent days.
Both the competition and the academy were perfectly organized by the International Ballet Association SARA - NORA PRIMA, State Opera - Burgas.
The two large-scale events, with a total of over 130 participants, were carried out with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and the partnership of the Municipality of Burgas and the tangible dedication of all those who participated in the successful creation of the first edition of the prestigious ballet forum.
From July 1 to 9, the Burgas Opera House was filled with the magic of dance art.
The official awarding ceremony in the competition and the gala concert of the laureates this evening was attended by the authoritative members of the international jury, the mentors at the International Ballet Academy, the general director of BTA - Kiril Valchev, the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Burgas, with the department "Culture, Tourism and Sport " - Diana Savateva, and, of course, the creators, initiators and inspirers of the large-scale event - Sara-Nora Krysteva, prima ballerina and the longest-serving director of the ballet at the Sogi Opera and Ballet, and Evgenia Trofimchuk-Veda Evgenia Veda - chairman of the International Association "Sara-Nora Prima", choreographer, director, a successful manager in the field of art in different countries.
The competition was only for professionals, the ballet dancers who participated in the competition program are from 12 countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Germany, Serbia, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Greece, Russia, and the USA.
The jury, from the Bulgarian side, included: Marta Petkova Petkova, prima ballerina of and director of the ballet troupe at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, Prof. Dr. Masha Ilieva Maria Ilieva, prima ballerina, former director of the National Opera and Ballet, teacher at National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov", and Nikola Hadjitanev Nikola Hadjitanev - premier ballet dancer at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, a teacher at NATFIZ "Krastyo Sarafov", as well as choreographer Fredi Franzzuti, Gregor Hatala, director of the Vibe international ballet competition in Vienna and Seoul, Kai Kiop - director of the ballet school in Estonia, Maria Volodina - soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, Serbian prima ballerina Anna Pavlovich and her colleague Konstantin Kostyukov.
The master classes from the "Sara-Nora Prima" Ballet Academy were held in the multifunctional building of the Opera House from July 1 to 9. Part of the mentors are members of the international jury - the prima ballerina and current artistic director of the ballet at the Sofia Opera and Ballet Marta Petkova, the prima ballerina, Prof. Dr. Maria Ilieva, as well as Nikola Khajitanev, premier ballet dancer of the National Ballet. The characteristic dances were led by Maria Volodina, a soloist in the Bolshoi Theater. A mentor at the Ballet Academy was also Prof. Dr. Anna Pampulova, who is the head of the ballet department at the New Bulgarian University.
The program of the impressive gala concert of the laureates also included two wonderful performances by the participants of the International Ballet Academy - an attractive temperament "Tarantella" - choreographed by Maria Volodina, and an original interpretation - in dance and a philosophical thought woven into it, to music by V. A. Mozart - with conceptual creator Assoc. Dr. Anna Pampoulova Anna Pampoulova.
Leading the glamorous ceremony with a large responsive intelligent audience was the beloved TV journalist Georgi Lyubenov The day begins with Georgi Lyubenov.
Many prizes were awarded, and a beautiful basket of flowers was presented on behalf of Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, mayor of Burga Municipality and patron of the "Sara-Nora Prima" contest.
The special award of the Municipality of Burgas for the best-performing participant in the competition, who is a native of Burgas, was presented by Diana Savateva to Polina Ivanova, winner of the first prize in category C /women/, who was on the stage of the Burgas Opera House has started her upward career path.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Municipality of Burgas, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency BTA / Bulgarian News Agency - project partner, the representatives of "Grishko" for Bulgaria, the icon cleaner Toshko Vachev, who donated his icons to the winners of the competition, as well as to all friends and associates.
