At the end of the successful and eventful creative year for the State Opera - Burgas, the cultural institution has prepared the traditional holiday morning "Santa Claus is coming to the Opera" - on December 18, with the performance "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and two performances of the considered traditional ballet production at Christmas - "The Nutcracker".

The popular story of the tale of E.T. Hoffman's The Hazelnut Crusher, on which Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky created his immortal ballet of the same name, will be presented with all its stage splendor twice before the holidays on the Burgas stage - on Sunday, December 19, at 11 a.m. and on Monday, May 20. and December from 7 pm in the hall of the Burgas Opera. The world-famous ballet production has become a mandatory part of the Christmas program of every musical and stage theater. The two performances of the ballet extravaganza will become a festive experience for all ballet lovers. Through the means of fine dance art, ballet dancers will tell the story of little Masha's wonderful dream, her adventures in the magical world of dreams, and the fabulous metamorphosis that turned the Hazelnut Crusher into a prince.

The remarkable staging of the iconic ballet, which is traditionally performed at Christmas, is the work of Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov and combines the best of classical traditions with the inherent perfectionism of the prominent choreographer and director - in terms of details, implicit messages, giving emotional content to the constructed images.

In addition to the soloists and the ballet ensemble of the State Opera - Burgas, the stage extravaganza during the two festive performances in the Opera Hall will include the talents of children from the Children's Ballet Theater "Drop" and ballet classes of NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov ". The fairytale scenography and costumes were created by Radostin Chomakov, the tutor of the production is Galina Kalcheva, the assistant director is Petar Tiholov. The magic story will be recreated by the soloists: in the first production - on December 19 the roles of Masha and the Nutcracker will be Polina Ivanova and Daniel Tichkov, on December 20 the characters will include Ivanina Ivanova and Teodor Tsakov. As the Black Queen will be Yana Berduta, who made a successful debut in the role in February this year. The image of Droselmeyer includes Svetlan Nikolov, Fritz will be Alex Raeva from DBT "Drop", friends of Masha - Iva Ovcharova and Natalie Ivanova, Mother - Anelia Ivanova.
