Another event from the SOLOISTS OF THE STATE OPERA series – BURGAS on Saturday morning proved that the classical art of opera is universal, and the artists who dedicated it are also multi-talented.
In the early hours of the day, when singing opera repertoire with high difficulty is a real challenge for the singer's voice, the two soloists of the Burgas State Opera - soprano Shmilena Sultanova Shmilena Sultanova and baritone Branimir Nedkov Branimir Nedkov, under the magnificent piano accompaniment of Mira Iskarova Mira Iskarova - Bulgarian pianist, composer, and teacher at the Academy of Music, presented a program selected with flair and taste, presented with respect for the audience, complemented by undisputed professionalism.
The concert program was hosted by Shmilena Sultanova - in a stylish black outfit, who presented each of the performances in the light of the era and the psychological images of the characters, introducing the audience to the atmosphere of the respective piece of music.
The performances of the two wonderful soloists were in sync with the professionalism and spirited presence behind the piano of the pianist Mira Iskarova, who sculpted not only the musical phrases but also merged with the mood and messages of each of the performances.
The program of the concert on Saturday sounded:
Don Juan's Aria "Fin ch'han dal vino", Don Juan's Serenade "Deh, vieni alla finestra" and Donna Elvira's Aria "Ah, chi mi dice mai" - from the opera "Don Juan" by W. A. Mozart; "Habanera", "Segidilla" and "Song of the Toreador" from the opera "Carmen" by Georges Bizet, Aria of King Alphonse from the opera "The Favorite" by Gaetano Donizetti; Duet of Silva and Edwin "Do you remember" from the operetta "The Queen of the Czardasha" by Imre Kalman; Duet of Hanna Glovari and Count Danilo from the operetta "The Merry Widow" by Franz Lehar; Duet of Fred and Lily from the musical "Kiss Me Kate!" of Cole Porter.
