24 november 2022 A Full Hall At "Piazzola - The Last Concert!"
If there are moments that could relate to the iconic phrase from Goethe's "Faust" - Oh, a moment, stop!", then tonight in the hall of the Burgas State Opera with the concert PIAZOLA - THE LAST CONCERT ...! it was in full force synchronicity with the symbolism contained in its meaning…
Not just admiration, not a bow to the talent of the exceptional talent of the young bandoneonist Stoyan Karaivanov, who was not just a performer that evening, but the entire full hall of the Opera House felt his incredible charge, which is a gift from above.
Emotion - in all shades, filigree technique, and above all - spirit embodied in the musical text, showed - both the soloist and all the musicians from the orchestra of the Burgas Opera with concertmaster Hristo Belchev, led by maestro Deyan Pavlov, created a concert, for which will be talked about for a long time.
Two encores, which were "earned" by the intelligent and emotional audience, completed the program, which is a repeat of the last night Maestro Astor Piazzolla performed - on July 3, 1990 in Athens, Greece.
Admirations also for the impeccable Iliana Todorova on the piano, who was in artistic sync with the soloist and the musicians!
The trajectory of the emotional wave in the hall passed through different shades - from the nostalgic length of sadness in biblical dimensions, to the highest degree of sensuality embodied in the musical text, recreated by the amazing timbre variety of the bandoneon, whose sound the conductor Deyan Pavlov likened to during one of the rehearsals
of an organ.
At the end of the special evening, which took on the dimension of intimate sharing between kindred dedicated souls, the young instrumentalist himself, spontaneously and unscripted, addressed the audience, who were on their feet and did not want to let him leave the stage.
"I am in Burgas for the first time and I am pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome, by the audience, the organization, by everything! Thank you and I hope this is not our only meeting! I also want to congratulate the outstanding musicians from the orchestra!" said Stoyan Karaivanov, who, despite his 25 years of age, exudes maturity and philosophical depth uncharacteristic of his age in his interpretation of Piazzolla, unadulterated class and an extremely strong spiritual charge.
The concert program included:
"Tres Tangos" for bandoneon and orchestra, "Adios Nonino", "Aconcagua" - Concerto for bandoneon and orchestra - as Aconcagua is the highest peak in South America, this concerto is considered the pinnacle of Maestro Piazzolla's work. .
The cultural event was honored with the traditional basket of flowers on behalf of the Mayor of Burgas Municipality, Dimitar Nikolov.
