22 february 2024 Another High-Class Concert Under The Baton of Yordan Dafov

Tonight, the hall of the Burgas State Opera was dominated by music from the era of Viennese classicism - with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Under the baton of the famous maestro Yordan Dafov, who turned 84 years a few days ago and continues to be energetic, focused behind the desk, putting exceptional professionalism into his every conducting gesture, another event was created, united by his thought, emotion and philosophical attitude towards the world, with a SYMPHONIC CONCERT.
The soloist of the concert - in the performance of Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 20 in D minor, KV 466, was the young pianist Lilia Jekova, who charmed with style, ease of performance - in sync with Mozart's spirit embodied in his wonderful music, carrying vital messages, ennobling, giving a different perspective, as if from another dimension...
Another work by Mozart was included in the concert program - Divertimento in B flat major, KV 137 - an elegant musical miniature that was presented as a beautiful exquisite gift - with filigree phrases and a light sketch of the musical "narrative".
For the finale of the almost two-hour program of the symphony concert, the large-scale Symphony No. 2 in D major by Ludwig van Beethoven sounded, with the characteristic dramatic line of his deeply felt and moving music.
The orchestra was united - in sound, thought, and concentration, and maestro Dafov was once again like a good magician who mastered the process of creating a real classical musical feast.
Admirations - both for the wonderful soloist, for the orchestra of the Burgas Opera, with concertmaster Vanya Zlateva, of course, for maestro Yordan Dafov, and for the Burgas audience, which, apart from being numerous, showed an attitude to art of the highest quality, with appropriate for an event of similar rank presence and conduct.
The next concert performance under the baton of maestro Dafov is the Easter concert - on May 2 at 7 p.m. in the Opera hall. Soloists will be:
Maria Tsvetkova – Madzharova – soprano,
Joanna Kadiyska – mezzo-soprano,
Yani Nikolov – tenor, i
Kostadin Mechkov – bass.
The program will feature Mass in C major, op.86 for soloists, choir, and orchestra by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Choir conductor - Alexander Chepanov.
