10 august 2021 Impressive "Norma" In The Heart Of Strandzha
The last festival evening of the large-scale cultural forum "Opera of the Sanctuary" / August 6-8 /, organized by the State Opera - Burgas and Primorsko Municipality, put the code not only for a successful event in the heart of the mystical mountain Strandzha. The three-day festival was the apotheosis of the influential power of art, which, even presented in unusual conditions, is the most direct path to the Divine beginning. In such a sacred place, bearing the legends inscribed in every monolithic stone block, every tree, forest, star dome, all the magical reality of Nature, Vincenzo Bellini's white cant masterpiece "Norma" was perhaps the most impressive opera title presented among the natural decor of the Thracian sanctuary.
There was no weak component in the show, which tonight unfolded its ideological and artistic charge in the most beautiful, influential, and at the same time professionally padded way.
The legend of the Druids, the clash between duty and love, for honor beyond imagination, for the power of heart commands, for the symbolism and energy charge of self-sacrifice, was told through the means of musical-theatrical art in an incomparable and unique way.
All artists and musicians were completely merged with the overall conceptual concept of the directing adapted to natural conditions by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev / assistant directors - Lina Peeva and Petar Tiholov /. Soloists, orchestra / under the inspired baton of maestro Ivaylo Krinchev, concertmaster - Yordan Kovachev /, choir/conductor Nevena Mihaylova /, ballet/цchoreaography - Galina Kalcheva/ were merged in a spirit of unity with the messages of Bellini's magnificent music.
Extremely influential were: soprano Joanna Zhelezcheva - irresistible as the Gallic priestess Norma, who performs an emotional feat, mezzo-soprano Daniela Dyakova - arousing admiration in the construction of the dramatic image of Adaldjiza, dedicated to the faith, but chose the dictates of the heart, tenor Valeriy Georgiev stable as the Roman proconsul Polione, the bass Delyan Slavov - respectful and dignified in the image of the Gallic high priest Oroveso, the mezzo-soprano Kalina Popova - with a strong debut in the role of Clotilde, the tenor Lubomir Todorov - as Flavio, close to Polione.
Magnificent choir - balanced in sound and with a memorable artistic presence, beautifully sounding orchestra, stylish ballet, excellent technical support / all specialists "behind the scenes" from the technical services deserve admiration /, understanding, intelligent and excited large audience - all components of quality and an exciting spectacle in a magical place were available on Sunday night, August 8th.
