The long-awaited premiere of the ballet masterpiece "Giselle" to the music of Adolf Adam, considered one of the most beautiful stories - the purity of spontaneous feelings, their fate, and the victory of love - as a meaning of life and stimulus, over death, will delight fans of fine ballet this week. On Saturday, April 24, at 7 pm, in the hall of the Burgas Opera, the staging of the ballet classics will present a new reading of the beautiful love story, with completely new decor and costumes, impressive with romantic scope, attention to detail typical of the era and messages of the work.
The premiere of the ballet "Giselle" was supposed to be on April 5, last year, but due to the declaration of the state of emergency, it was postponed indefinitely. The director of the Burgas Opera - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev redirected his creative ideas to another field, proving that art could undoubtedly be a social cause - the wardrobes of the State Opera - Burgas began to sew protective masks instead of costumes for the planned premiere of the ballet "Giselle". In about two and a half months, the seamstresses, under whose deft fingers hundreds of beautiful costumes came out, sewed more than 20,000 masks, which were distributed free of charge to health and social institutions, as well as to the administrative sector. Because of this noble initiative, implemented in a timely manner and entirely charitable, on behalf of the National Association of Municipalities was awarded the honorary award "Outstretched Hand" to the costume designers of the State Opera - Burgas.
The libretto of the ballet in two acts "Giselle" is by Theophile Gauthier and Vernois de Saint Georges, the choreography - by Jean Coralie, Jules Perrault, and Marius Petipa / edited by Leonid Lavrovsky /. The production and direction are by Galina Kalcheva, who is also a tutor of the ballet ensemble. The artist of the set is the famous Bulgarian master of the brush, with extensive experience in the implementation of original scenographic solutions for many productions - Ivan Tokadzhiev, Anna-Maria Tokadzhieva is an artist of the exquisite costumes, the assistant director of the production is Petar Tiholov.
Along with the character of the gentle innocent girl Giselle, who incarnates the young, beautiful, talented, and responsible for the construction of the image and the elaboration of the technical details prima ballerina of the Burgas Opera Ivanina Ivanova / debut /, those of Albert, a prince disguised as an ordinary country boy - performed by the prime minister-ballet dancer Emil Yordanov, in the role of Mirta, queen of the jeeps - Adriana-Maria Manasieva / debut /, Polina Ivanova / debut /. Villas are fairy creatures inspired by Slavic mythology - spirits of girls who left earthly life before settling down. The young incorruptible creatures did not find peace in the grave, because during their lifetime they did not satisfy their desire to dance. So they come out of their graves at midnight, gather in groups along the main roads, and wait for passers-by, dragging them into constant dancing until they fall dead from exhaustion. As a forester Hans, in love with Giselle, but without the beautiful girl sharing his feelings, Teodor Tsakov debuted in the production. Galina Kalcheva, who is the director and director of "Giselle", appears on the stage in the role of Bathilda, and Svetlana Nikolov will see the Duke. Wilfred is Stefan Tipikov, Berta is Dobrina Bahova. "Giselle is the most romantic ballet of the masterpieces of the classical heritage. It was created by the exceptional masters Jules Perrot, Jacques Coralli, and later - Marius Petipa / as well as various editions, the most successful of which is by Leonid Lavrovsky /. The performance is a pearl for every ballet troupe. The premiere of "Giselle" by the ballet troupe of the State Opera - Burgas is dedicated to all artists who today are very difficult to maintain their form. The performance features soloists and an ensemble of the Burgas Opera, students from NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov ”, children from the Kapka Children's Ballet Theater, and dancers from the Strandzha Folklore Ensemble, shared with excitement about the long-awaited Prime Minister Galina Kalcheva, director and director of Giselle and tutor of the ballet ensemble.

The artist Ivan Tokadzhiev was born in 1952 in Razgrad. He graduated from the Academy of Arts and worked as a chief artist and designer in the municipality of Rousse. In 1995 he was elected executive director of BNT, and in 1996-1997 he was its general director. From 2001-2005 he was the Executive Director of the IRU. From 2005 to 2009 he was Deputy Minister of Culture. Tokadjiev is known for his scenographic solutions in theatrical, television, opera, and ballet productions at the Ruse and Varna Opera, the Musical Theater in Sofia, the National Theater, the Sofia Theater, and other theaters in the country. And his painting has attracted the attention of connoisseurs in Germany, Austria, France, Spain.

The young and reliable ballet prima Ivanina Ivanova graduated from NBU "Mihail Lakatnik", Burgas, and NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov ”- Burgas.
Ivanina Ivanova is well known to the fans of rhythmic gymnastics in our country, she competed for "Chernomorets", as well as in the ensemble of the Burgas club. She played the lead role in "The Hazelnut Crusher", staged by Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov and the State Opera - Burgas, and ballet lovers watched her in the exotic "Bayaderka" and "Sleeping Beauty", in the role of Princess Aurora herself, as and the Fairy Lilac. Only six years later, he became a prima ballet dancer at the Sofia Opera and Ballet. Emil Yordanov is also a ballet dancer at the Ballet of the State Opera - Burgas. Participates as a soloist in the performances of Burgas, Plovdiv, Ruse, and Stara Zagora operas. He has toured in Canada, Italy, Greece, Germany, Denmark, Spain, America, Japan, and others. In 2004 he received the first-degree award at the XI National Meeting of Young Ballet Performers "A. Petrov ”in Sofia. Holder of an Honorary Diploma for the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria. He received the Crystal Lyre Award for his role as Basil in the Don Quixote Ballet.

Teodor Tsakov was born in Sofia in 1992.

In 2011 he graduated from the National School of Dance Art - Sofia with a degree in classical dance with teacher Peter Koldamov. 2008 received a scholarship from the Peter Iliev Dance Workshop and studied in Chicago with Daniel Duel and Patricia Blair. In 2010 he graduated from the National Ballet Competition "Anastas Petrov" in Dobrich. He toured as part of the ensemble and as a soloist with Bulgarian, French, and Ukrainian troupes in Europe, Asia, and America with the performances "Swan Lake", "Sleeping Beauty", "The Hazelnut Crusher", "Don Quixote" and others. From 2014 to 2015 he worked at the State Opera in Ruse. She made her debut as a soloist in the performances "Sleeping Beauty", "The Hazelnut Crusher" and "Swan Lake". There he made his debut as a choreographer with the performance "Strange Squad" In parallel with his work in Ruse, he performed in solo roles for the State Opera - Plovdiv. From 2015 to 2016 he went to Ukraine, where he worked at the Kharkiv National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after NV Lysenko, participating in the entire repertoire of the theater. At the end of 2016 he started working at the State Opera - Burgas, and at the same time studied and received a bachelor's degree in pedagogy at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv.
