One of Giacomo Puccini's most popular operas - "Tosca" will perform on the open stage of the Summer Theater in Burgas on August 9 at 8:30 p.m. with beautiful music, dramatic passions that turned the tragic plot into an emblematic one - with the antagonistic manifestations of love, with the power of pure feelings opposed to treachery and insidious plans. Under the skillful baton of maestro Ivan Kozhuharov, who once again created a sensation with the last performance of "Aida" on August 2nd at the Summer Theater, a sad story with a fatal ending will be told - an apotheosis of true feelings and unyielding dignity. Maestro Kozhuharov crafts - skilfully, with great dedication and uncompromising professionalism, every detail of the amazing Puccini score, in order to present a complete musical-artistic-aesthetic product - with soul and charge. "Tosca" is directed by Associate Professor Alexander Tekeliev, Ph.D., and the production quests emphasize the deep study of human actions, the reasons that give rise to fateful decisions, as well as the power of our internal choices. The conductor of the wonderful choir is Nevena Mihailova, the concertmaster is Hristo Belchev. The romantic storyline of Tosca is heartbreaking with its tragic denouement. The story is about two lovers - the beautiful, bold, burning with love and passion Floria Tosca and the talented artist Mario Cavaradossi - with a free spirit, but a heart captivated by love. Two people who dared to defy the cruel rules of a harsh world. Their pure love is under the cruel shadow of the powerful villain, from whom all Rome trembles - Baron Scarpia. Synchronous with the stage action and plot logic, the stage effects also alternate – video mapping recreating different stages of the characters' dramatic experiences and the symbolism of suffering, as well as the lighting, which enhances the emotional resonance caused by the tragic events. The wonderful costumes of the solo ensemble are the work of the talented multi-functional artist Denis Ivanov.

In the role of the beautiful, proud, and assertive Floria Toska, the audience of Burgas will have the pleasure of seeing again the magnificent soprano Tanya Ivanova /guest/. She was a memorable Tosca in the role and in the performance on May 12 of this year in the hall of the Burgas State Opera. The charming Tanya Ivanova is the muse and longtime companion in life and on the stage of the unforgettable world tenor Kamen Chanev, with whom they had exciting joint performances in Burgas. As her lover, with whom they share a beautiful love marked by tragedy and doom - Mario Cavaradossi, the brilliant tenor Ivaylo Mihailov /guest/ appears on the Burgas stage. The role of the treacherous and sneaky Baron Scarpia will be played by the brilliant baritone Marjan Jovanoski, for whom the role is the crowning glory. The soloist of the National Opera and Ballet in Skopje, North Macedonia will be a real artistic whirlwind in a completely different role - in the role of Figaro in the comic opera by Gioacchino Rossini "The Barber of Seville" - on August 24th on the stage of the Summer Theater – Burgas.

As the escaped prisoner Cesare Angelotti and former consul of the once free Roman Republic, the bass player Delyan Slavov appeared on stage, whom the Burgas audience and guests of the city had the pleasure of hearing and seeing in the beautifully constructed roles of Timur in "Turandot" (July 22) and Ramfis. high priest of Egypt - in "Aida"/August 2/. The entire artistic composition is wonderful - Kostadin Mechkov, bass, will play the roles of Klisarya and Jailer, Spoletta will be tenor Yani Nikolov, Sharone - bass Petar Tiholov, Lina Peeva will play the role of the Shepherdess. The orchestra and choir of the State Opera - Burgas, as well as the wonderful singers from the Children's Choir "Milka Stoeva" with conductor Svetla Stoeva, take part in the show. The young choristers recently successfully participated in several performances of the Burgas Opera - in "Carmen" by Georges Bizet, also under the baton of Ivan Kozhuharov, in the Easter concert with conductor Yordan Daffov, as well as in "Turandot" - on July 22nd on stage at the Summer Theater in Burgas. The performance of "Tosca" is another event from the calendar of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov", realized by the State Opera - Burgas and the Municipality of Burgas.
