Another event from the busy calendar of the Burgas Opera for the new Season 2023/2024 is the ballet classic "Giselle". Considered the most romantic ballet, it will be presented on the stage of the State Opera - Burgas on October 23, Monday, at 7 p.m. Adolf Adam's musical masterpiece is dedicated to the purity of spontaneously generated feelings, their fateful power and the victory of love - as life's meaning and stimulus, over the world of shadows. "Giselle" is a moving story about the immeasurable power of love. The ballet extravaganza was presented on the stage of the Summer Theater in Burgas, in the program of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov" 2023, as the prima Marta Petkova and the premier ballet dancer Emil Yordanov once again proved their high class in a magnificent stage tandem. On October 23, the exciting reading of the beautiful love story will be presented again - directed by Galina Kalcheva. The staging of "Giselle" is characterized by emotional depth, a sense of the underlying messages in the details characteristic of the era. On October 23, the audience will see that everyone on stage participates in the creation of beauty that not only caresses the senses but also looks deeper into the inner essence. The overall appearance of the performance is under the sign of high class, utmost dedication to art and emotional synchronicity. The exceptional performers of the central roles, the ensemble, as well as the individual solo performances, are at a professional level, presented with ease, finesse, precision, and the mood corresponding to the presented images.

The choreography of the ballet in two acts "Giselle" is by Jean Coralli, Jules Perrault, and Marius Petipa /edited by Leonid Lavrovsky/. The designer of the set is the outstanding Bulgarian master in the field of scenographic art, Ivan Tokadjiev, who in April created the impressive scenography for the premiere production of the ballet "The Badly Protected Girl" on the Burgas stage, also a production by Galina Kalcheva. Anna-Maria Tokadzhieva is the designer of the exquisite costumes, fully adapted to the style and spirit of the production, the assistant director is Petar Tiholov.

The image of the gentle girl Giselle with a tragic fate, who through the power of her love manages to save her beloved from the destructive world of shadows, will be presented - in all its splendor and depth, by the prima ballerina of the Sofia Opera and Ballet and artistic director of the ballet troupe to the National Cultural Institute - Marta Petkova. The graceful prima is a frequent guest on the Burgas stage and is always greeted extremely warmly by the public, who appreciate her unadulterated air, technical perfection, and innate class.

On the stage of the Burgas Opera on Monday, in partnership with Marta Petkova, the premier ballet dancer of the Sofia Opera and Ballet and the State Opera - Burgas, Emil Yordanov, will appear in the role of Albert - a prince disguised as an ordinary village boy. The premier ballet dancer builds the image with a remarkable depth of psychological interpretation, backed up by impressive technique and charismatic stage presence.

Yana Berduta, the soloist of the ballet company of the Burgas Opera, plays the role of Mirta, the leader of the villises. According to Slavic mythology, vilis are fairy-tale creatures – spirits of maidens who left earthly life before settling down. The young incorruptible creatures in life have not satisfied their desire to dance, so they find no peace in the grave and come out of their graves at night, gather in groups by the highways, and wait for passers-by, enthralling them in ceaseless dancing until the innocent victims drop dead from exhaustion.

The image of the forester Hans, who is hopelessly in love with Giselle, will be presented by the soloist of the ballet company of the Burgas Opera Theodor Tsakov, who is also preparing for his debut in the role of Siegfried in the ballet "Swan Lake" - on November 9, during the visit of the Burgas Opera in Razgrad. Anelia Ivanova will play the role of Bathilda, Svetlan Nikolov will play the Duke, Sofia Lovdzhieva will play the role of Berta, and Daniel Tichkov will play the role of Wilfred. Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova and Kiril Filipov will dance in the temperamental Pas de deux in the first act. A pair of Villis will be Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova and Rafaela-Maria Kül. On the stage of the Opera House, decorated with fairy-tale decor, as Giselle's friends on Monday will appear: Yana Berduta, Natalie Ivanova, Ilina Konstantinova, Iva Kavrkova, Rafaela-Maria Kuhl, Nanako Sato.
