The last musical performance of the State Opera - Burgas of Fr. Saint Anastasia, included in the program "Party on the Island" 2024, is a concert performance "Edith Piaf - Non, je ne regretted rien - Edith Piaf", presenting the work of the unforgettable French singer - on August 8 at 21:00 at the open a scene by the seashore of the only inhabited island on the Black Sea. With the concert, the Burgas Opera celebrates 60 years since the death of the French chanson icon.

The events of "Party on the Island" have proven their attraction and every time the scenic stage turns out to be too narrow to accommodate those who want to experience the feeling of a combination of beautiful music, the unique view of the sunset over the open sea and the unforgettable experience that is inevitable in the context of the romance.

The music of the most famous chansonette will be presented - with palpable love and adoration for her work, by the two soloists of the State Opera - Burgas - Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova and Nona Krastnikova, under the piano accompaniment of the distinguished conductor Stracimir Pavlov /guest/, who is author of the arrangements. He conducted the closing concert "Love, champagne and Can-can" under the direction of Mario Nikolov - at the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov" 2023 on the stage of the Summer Theater in Burgas. A well-known conductor, composer, arranger, and instrumentalist, maestro Pavlov has remarkable experience behind the desk in similar programs. He was awarded the "Most Talented Young Author" award of the Union of Bulgarian Composers. Since 1996, he has lived and worked in the USA. During this period, he was awarded numerous prizes from prestigious American competitions. Since 2002, he has been the music director and conductor of the Opera Theater in Little Rock, Arkansas. He has conducted over 40 titles /operas, musicals, and shows/. Leads summer academies for young opera singers. He has performed in Carnegie Hall - New York, Seattle - Washington, Los Angeles - California, etc. In 2008, he returned to Bulgaria and in the short time since then, he has filled his biography with many more creative performances.

This is what the soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova tells about the opportunity to perform the unforgettable chansons of a world music icon who carries an inimitable charisma, and her songs continue to enter the soul spaces in an incomparable way - they warm, move, sadden, purify, delight, think. ..

"Is it possible to imagine that a female minion, skinny, with loose hair, and smeared makeup, neglecting her appearance and clothing, could be a superstar. Yes. It is possible, and that is why Edith Piaf - is adored, followed, and imitated, to this day. The muse of modern musicians, singers, and directors. The charisma and magic that she has left in time cannot be explained. The most vivid representative of the chanson genre." – Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova.

The other soloist, who, together with Maria-Tsvetkova Madzharova, will present the work of Edith Piaf at the concert on Thursday - Nona Krastnikova - is also on a romantic wave before the event:

"August 8, on the Island, at sunset, we will remember, honor, and get to know Edith Piaf. The opening of the Olympics in Paris may reap controversy, but no one disputed the music of Edith, who closed the event with a performance by Celine Dion. It is said that Edith Piaf danced the lovers' waltz with persistence and madness, always leading the dance floor of life. I'm not like that, but I enjoy feeling that power when I sing her music. Does the audience feel this fire as well?

Come and feel…”

Nona Krastnikova participated in another concert of Fr. "St. Anastasia", dedicated to the charming beauty of French music - "Love Story", in partnership with the tenor Yani Nikolov, accompanied by the orchestra of the Burgas Opera with conductor Deyan Pavlov - on July 12 of this year.

With Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova, the soprano has several successful musical and stage projects, and with Stracimir Pavlov they will be on the same stage for the first time.
