27 july 2021 Successful Premiere of "Paqita" And Majestic "Carmina Burana"

Numerous audiences gathered on Sunday evening / July 25 / the two titles on the bill of the Burgas Opera - the premiere of variations from the ballet "Pahita" by Ludwig Minkus, staging and directing - Galina Kalcheva, assistant director - Peter Tiholov, and one of the cult cantatas - "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff. Both productions were under the baton of maestro Ivan Kozhuharov. He once again proved his level of the first-class conductor, uniting the creative and energetic charge of all performers on stage, inspiring that invisible spark called "Duende" of musical scores and artists. Goethe said, listening to Paganini: "He has a Duende! It is a magical power that every mortal feels, but no philosopher can explain ..." Maestro Kozhuharov deserves the most sincere and ardent admiration - because of this invisible spark that ignites. And get them - once again! The orchestra of the Burgas Opera with concertmaster Vanya Zlateva was at a high level - as a technique of performance, built dynamics, achieved accents in the fabric of the scores and overall impact. The ballet variations from the third act of "Paqiita", premiered tonight under the orchestral accompaniment life, demonstrated the best of the technical mastery of the ballet troupe at the Burgas Opera. The artists shone - like vision, style, dynamics, synchrony, mood. The soloists - the prima ballerina of the Burgas Opera Ivanina Ivanova and Teodor Tsakov, Yana Berduta, as well as Polina Ivanova, Iva Ovcharova, Natalie Ivanova, Ivana Fialkovska, Hristina Stoycheva, Maria Todorova, Gergana Georgieva, Raya Chakarova, Patricia Soares, Simo Sabina Koseva - all performers of the ballet troupe deserved the spontaneous applause of those present at the Summer Theater on the evening of the premiere.

And the majestic cantata "Carmina Burana" once again showed its power - as shocking suggestions, philosophical deep thought, following the eternal questions of being, guided by Fate, ordained from above - to lead people on their wrong path, falling, standing up, and learning the bitter life lessons ... The gothic myth of the cantata is recreated on the emblematic music of Carl Orff. The theme of Evil and the symbolism associated with its influence on the soul "Carmina Burana" presented tonight syncretically polyphonic ideas in which music, dance, and impressive scenography intertwined into a single whole. The 25 songs in the cantata are by unknown authors - troubadours from the Middle Ages and are grouped into three sections: about spring, wine, and love. The emblem "Oh, Fortune!" was the semantic frame of the stage cantata - symbolically turning the endless wheel of Fate. On Sunday night more than 100 performers - soloists, orchestra, choir, and ballet of the State Opera - Burgas appeared on the stage of the Summer Theater. The technical support of both productions was very good - visual and special effects, costumes, props, make-up, sound, and overall aesthetic appearance. The poems of medieval poets, which served as the basis of the cantata, were presented - inspired, with thought, mind, and imagination, by the magnificent soloists - soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova, countertenor Dimitar Arnaudov, and Alexander Krunev - baritone. The parties of all three soloists have difficulty in interpreting beyond conventional perception. The soloists took the glove of the challenge and returned it to the audience - victoriously. Impressive with a philosophical interpretation of the eternal themes of existence and consciousness is Darina Glavanakova-Bakardzhieva, assistant director - Lina Peeva, artist of impressive scenography with symbolic messages - Maria Trendafilova, choreography - innovative and also with a philosophical charge - of. And in the role of Fate was Yana Berduta - stylish and respectful. Tonight, the choir of the Burgas Opera with conductor Nevena Mihaylova received fully deserved admiration - fused in a single whole, artistic, precise - intonation and timbre inspired. Strong presence, strong performance, strong suggestions - this was the emblem of the choir, which was the main actor tonight. The event, which united two titles, was another from the calendar of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov", realized by the State Opera - Burgas and the Municipality of Burgas. At the end of the evening, the traditional flower basket was served on behalf of Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.
