09 august 2021 For The First Time "Troubadour" On The Stage In Begliktash
The second festival event of "Opera of the Sanctuary" was an exciting evening under the starry sky of Strandzha, in a sacred place, in the condensed rhythm of the musical-scenic perfection of Verdi's opera "Troubadour".
On Saturday night / August 7 / nature was kindly benevolent - after last night's rain, which - fortunately, began after the end of the performance of "Nabucco", today the wind calmed down, crickets and songbirds invited singers and musicians, merging the natural energy that the sacred place is palpably strong, with the rhythm of the score and the stage action.
The Troubadour's performance on Saturday night was perfectly balanced - as a combination of the individual elements.
The dramatic plot, subject to the exciting dynamics of the tragic fate line of the characters, obsesses the senses and carries messages beyond time.
All artists - soloists, choir / with conductor Nevena Mihaylova /, ballet/choreography - Galina Kalcheva /, the orchestra - under the baton of maestro Ivaylo Krinchev, with concertmaster Vanya Zlateva, built and inspired an exciting stage life of a strong spectacle, in the sad story of the tragic intertwining of human destinies in one of Verdi's most beautiful operas, The Troubadour.
Exceptional - both as a vocal interpretation and as an artistic presence, were: the guest tenor Valery Georgiev - in the role of Manrico, stable vocally, lyrically, distributing, albeit on the non-traditional stage; soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova - as Leonora, gentle and strong at the same time, built the image with musical flair and ease; mezzo-soprano Daniela Dyakova - in her crowning role as Azuchena - shaking with the dramatic nuances of her rich timbre voice; the baritone Alexander Krunev - in the image of the Count of Luna - respectful, with a bright presence, built a role saturated with bright emotionality; the bass Kostadin Mechkov - as the chief of the guard Ferrando, who tells the tragic story about the exchanged children; the mezzo-soprano Lina Peeva - with her lyrical presence and softness of voice, like the one close to Leonora - Ines; Lyubomir Todorov - as Ruitz, Nikolai Nikolov - in the role of the Old Gypsy, Milen Dinolov - Herald.
All specialists "behind the scenes" deserve admiration - assistant directors Lina Peeva and Petar Tiholov, employees of the technical services. They all recreated a sad tale - about the cruel precepts of the family memory, about the weight of the shackles of revenge, about the tragic end of a human feeling marked with beauty and sublimity, bearing the stigma of the curse.
The three-day festival "Opera of the Sanctuary" is carried out by the State Opera - Burgas, in partnership with the Municipality of Primorsko. The organization of the large-scale cultural event is very good - as preparation of the terrain for the specifics of an opera performance in natural conditions, as transportation of the guests of the event and providing optimal comfort for the audience in the heart of the mountain.
The mayor of Primorsko Dimitar Germanov, MPs, the former regional governor Valcho Cholakov, journalists, representatives of the cultural community, foreign guests were noticed among the large audience this evening as well.
