15 november 2024 Wonderful Мood Аt Тhe Opera Вith "The Barber of Seville"

The fifteenth evening of November brought excitement and spontaneous smiles to the hall of the Burgas State Opera with the timeless music of Gioacchino Rossini and the contemporary reading of the director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev - with elements of current satire, with THE BARBER OF SEVILLE/ IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA.
Behind the conductor's podium stood the great Bulgarian conductor Ivan Kozhuharov, who led all the performers - soloists, orchestra, and choir, in the ambitious and excellently executed stage task - to simultaneously entertain and make the audience think. And all this - like a brilliant string, united by the ingenious Rossini's music.
Admirations for all - real furies on the stage were: baritone Andrei Yurkovsky - as Figaro, tenor Nikolai Motsov - in the image of Count /Sheikh Almaviva/, mezzo-soprano Maria Yurkovskaya - Rosina, bass Kostadin Mechkov - Doctor Bartolo, Diman Panchev, bass - Don Basilio, Nona Krastnikova, soprano - Berta, Yordan Hristozov, baritone - in the images of Fiorello and the Officer!
Bravo to the orchestra musicians - they presented the virtuoso score with ease, teasing, finesse, and mastery!
Congratulations to all the artists of the choir with conductor Alexander Chepanov - each of them had an irreplaceable place in the overall dynamic picture of the performance!
At the end of the successful performance, the traditional baskets of flowers were presented on behalf of Prof. Maria Neykova, Regional Governor of Burgas Region, and Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, Mayor of Burgas Municipality.
