10 february 2024 A Wonderful Saturday Matinee In The Lobby Of Rhe Opera House
In the late morning of Saturday, February 10, the first event on the Burgas stage of the Burgas State Opera brought together fans of classical music in the lobby of the Opera with the fourth event of the series SOLISTS OF THE STATE OPERA – BURGAS.
The famous Bulgarian opera singers Daniela Diakova and Alexander Krunev Alexander Krunev, accompanied by the pianist with many years of successful concert activity and as a soloist - Iliana Todorova, presented a varied program from the opera repertoire, as, regardless of the early hour, which, as Alexander Krunev explained between the performances, is "a tough challenge for any singer", the two prominent opera singers and the wonderful instrumentalist managed to achieve an extremely high level of interpretation.
Both Daniela Dyakova and Alexander Krunev were brilliant - both in terms of vocal prowess and sophisticated vision, they presented the works from the difficult opera repertoire with ease, artistry, attitude to the audience and an aristocratic aura.
Pianist Iliana Todorova was a completely equal participant in the concert program, performing the heavy piano material in an uncompromising manner - with style, class, elegant and complete phrasing and exceptional stage symbiosis are the two singers.
Alexander Krunev skillfully approached the attendees, casually and artistically presented each of the performed works. He also announced the next event in the series THE SOLOISTS OF THE STATE OPERA – BURGAS - on February 24, also in the lobby of the Burgas Opera, soloists - soprano Shmilena Sultanova and baritone Branimir Nedkov.
The audience appreciated the professionalism of the three performers, rewarding them with a warm attitude and a long standing ovation.
Very small children, young people, regular visitors to performances and concerts of the Burgas Opera, as well as elderly ladies and gentlemen with a taste for opera art were noticed in the audience.
Alexander Krunev greeted the youngest viewer - Karina, who was standing on her mother's lap and, together with her older brother, listened most carefully to the entire program.
Before the concert, Daniela Dyakova revealed what the ideological line of the vocal concert will be: "The program is based on the foundation of romantic lyrics. Most of it consists of French music, but in general we will offer a journey starting with Mozart's classics. The emphasis is on the French lyrics of Bizet and Saint-Saëns. We will end this musical journey with some of the pearls of the world of Italian canzonets.”
The audience was able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the respective era, following the logic of the Saturday concert today, at which they sounded:
Duet of Zerlina and Don Juan from the opera "Don Juan" by V. A. Mozart, Aria of Figaro from the opera "The Barber of Seville" by Gioacchino Rossini, "Aria of Delilah and Duet of Delilah and the High Priest from the Second Act of the opera "Samson and Delilah" by Camille Saint-Saëns, Gerard's Aria - "Nemico della patria" from the Third Act of the opera "Andre Chenier" by Umberto Giordano,, "Habanera" from "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. An attractive finale of the concert was the popular melody of "Non ti scordar di me".
On the morning of Saturday, February 10, the fourth event of the "Soloists of the State Opera - Burgas" series gave a refined flavor and emotionally charged the attendees in the lobby of the Opera House, which has already established itself as a preferred place for chamber music events.
