02 november 2021 World-renowned Cellist With A Concert At The Burgas Opera
On November 4, Thursday, at 7 pm in the hall of the Burgas Opera, the world-renowned cellist Atanas Krastev will be the soloist of the orchestra of the State Opera - Burgas with conductor Tsanislav Petkov, performing a Concerto for cello and orchestra in E minor, Op. 85 by Edward Elgar. The charismatic young musician with an enviable international career is already in Burgas and rehearsing with the orchestra of the Burgas Opera. The great Bulgarian cellist, who played on the world stage and is already titled Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Krastev is the winner of 16 first and extraordinary awards from international competitions in Austria, Spain, the Czech Republic, Serbia, and Bulgaria. Here is what he shared after the rehearsal today:
"I am very happy to return to Burgas and play again with the Opera Orchestra, even more so under the baton of the exceptional Tsanislav Petkov. The atmosphere is great and I warmly invite everyone who has the opportunity to attend a truly special evening. For me, Edward Elgar's concerto is one of the most iconic works for cello and orchestra, with incredibly beautiful and sensual themes. "
The Burgas audience and guests of the city had the opportunity to see and hear the young talented cellist in July 2021 at the Summer Theater in Burgas, at the symphony concert under the baton of world-famous conductor Alexander Zemtsov, which featured the best participants in masterclasses. in violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, and piano of the Summer Academy of Arts - Burgas, as well as their teachers. The quality event was part of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov", realized by the State Opera - Burgas, with the assistance of the Municipality of Burgas and the organizer of the Academy of Arts Petya Velikova-Dimitrova. On the stage of the Summer Theater, Atanas Krastev performed Pezzo Capriccioso ”for cello and orchestra op. 62 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
In the program of the concert on Thursday / November, 4 / in the hall of the Burgas Opera will be performed Symphony № 4, B-Dur, op. 60 by Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven is a representative of the Viennese school, along with two other ingenious composers who worked at the same historical time - Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Beethoven's work bears the characteristic features of the European style and at the same time - the dramatic, torn by his personal tragedies, painful issues, and contradictions nature. Beethoven is considered one of the greatest composers in music history. His work is characterized by extreme pathos, tragedy, heroism, dramatic amplitudes in the emotional spectrum. Vanya Zlateva will be the concertmaster of the orchestra of the State Opera - Burgas under the baton of maestro Tsanislav Petkov at the concert on November 4. The young maestro Petkov conducted with great success on Sunday / October 31 / in the Opera Hall the virtuoso score of the operetta "The Ostrich" by Johann Strauss - son.
