The sixth performance of the "Soloists of the State Opera - Burgas" series is coming up on Saturday, March 9, at 11 a.m. in the lobby of the Opera House. The program of the vocal concert will include masterpieces from opera and operetta classics, as well as popular Italian and Spanish canzonets. In the next event of the chamber series of the Burgas Opera, which began in October 2023, the soloists will be: mezzo-soprano Ioana Kadiyska and tenor Yani Nikolov, on the piano will be Mira Iskarova.

At the end of November, the young soloist of the Burgas Opera, Ioana Kadiyska, made her successful debut in the role she dreamed of as the most famous gypsy in the artistic world – Carmen in the opera of the same name by Georges Bizet, under the baton of maestro Sunay Muratov. A full-blooded, impactful, and multi-spectral image was built by the young singer, who completely impressed the role - in appearance and emotionality. Kadiyska approached the role she dreamed of responsibly, with a lot of passion and consistency in the creative process - the result was palpable and everyone present - both the audience and her stage colleagues felt and appreciated it. Joanna Kadiyska and Yani Nikolov will also sing in the performance of "Carmen" on the open stage of the ancient megalithic complex Begliktash - on August 24, also under the baton of Sunai Muratov. Ioana Kadiyska is the winner of the first prize of the First National Competition with international participation in the name of the great Bulgarian baritone of world fame Stoyan Popov, held in October 2022 in the hall of the State Opera - Burgas.

The Burgas audience also knows the lovely mezzo-soprano in her roles as Rosina in "The Barber of Seville" by Gioacchino Rossini - she participated in the performance of the famous comic opera on the stage of the full Summer Theater in August 2023, in the role of Madalena in "Rigoletto" by Verdi - she will have performances with the title in May in Burgas, Vratsa, and in August - on the stage in Begliktash; Fenena - in "Nabucco" by Verdi - Kadiyska participated in the role during the performance at the Thracian sanctuary of Begliktash within the framework of the "Opera of the Sanctuary" festival 2023, together with Yani Nikolov - in the role of Ishmael.

The other soloist of the concert on Saturday - Yani Nikolov, also participated with Ioana Kadiyska in the performance of "Carmen" in November - in the role of the smuggler Remendado. The two young singers are also in a remarkable stage tandem in the roles of Helen the Fair and Paris in Offenbach's operetta The Fair Helen. They participated in the large-scale attractive operetta gala "Love, Champagne, and Can-Can", written and directed by Mario Nikolov, at the official closing of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov" 2023, both as a duet and with solo performances. In a few days - on March 12, at 7 p.m., Yanni Nikolov will make his debut in the role of Count Tsedlau in "Vienna Blood" by Johann Strauss-son, under the baton of maestro Deyan Pavlov. A few days ago, the soloist of the State Opera - Burgas reincarnated himself in the image of Alfred in another musical masterpiece Johann Strauss-son - "The Bat", conducted by maestro Dimitar Kosev, and in the summer season of 2023 - on the stage of the Summer Theater in Burgas, and at the opening of the 2023/2024 Season - in the hall of the Burgas Opera House - in the role of Sandor Barinkai. On March 25, Yani Nikolov will take part in Stara Zagora, together with Nona Krastnikova, under the baton of Deyan Pavlov - in the concert show with music from the French classical cinema - "Love Story", and the concert will also be presented July on an island "Saint Anastasia".

The two soloists of the State Opera - Burgas participate in several performances and chamber concerts of the Burgas Cultural Institute.

On the piano on Saturday will be Mira Iskarova, who is a teacher at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" - Sofia. She partnered expertly, in sync with the professionalism of the two soloists, with the intelligent presence behind the piano, sculpting not only the musical phrases but also merging with the mood and messages of each of the performances.

In the program of the vocal concert on Saturday, works by composers from different eras will be performed. Yanni Nikolov will present Don Basilio's Aria from the opera "The Marriage of Figaro" by V. A. Mozart - for which the tenor says he will sing a rarely performed full version of the aria, which should be of interest to fans of classical music. He adds that the concert is conceived as an exquisite bouquet of works by various composers, and will be a kind of beautiful musical gift for the ladies - in connection with March 8. The concert program will also feature duets from operas by Mozart, Harlequin's Aria from the opera "Pagliacci" by Ruggiero Leoncavallo, duets from "The Beautiful Helen" by Jacques Offenbach, as well as the beloved melody of "O sole mio!" and others popular Italian and Spanish canzonets.

On March 9, the sixth event of the "Soloists of the State Opera - Burgas" series will be a wonderful colorful emotional highlight of the day off.

The next concert of the "Soloists of the State Opera - Burgas" series is on March 23 at 11 a.m. in the lobby of the Opera House, with the participation of soprano Ioana Zhelezcheva and tenor Daniel Damyanov. Igor Kiriyanov will play the piano.
