19 february 2026 "Piazzolla - The Seasons" Delighted the Burgas Audience
An emotional explosion, alternating with nostalgic introverted states, a bursting passion, an unstoppable urge - for more beauty, expressed through the language of music, was the delightful concert PIAZZALLA – THE SEASONS in the hall of the Burgas State Opera last night under the baton of maestro Deyan Pavlov, presented amazingly - both as aesthetic messages and as high professionalism, by the two eminent soloists: the virtuoso instrumentalists Stoyan Karaivanov - bandoneon, and Prof. Cvetan Milchev Nedialkov - guitar, and the wonderful musicians from the Burgas Opera Orchestra.
The audience experienced a cultural event of the highest class and applauded for a long time on their feet and deserved the performance of the encore - the emblematic "Libertango" by Piazzolla, presented by the two amazing soloists with an extraordinary charge and filigree music, recreating - as an emotional rainbow, the rich nuances of the Argentine tango and the incomparable sensuality embedded in it.
The atmosphere in the Opera hall was extraordinary - as a philosophical-intellectual-emotional exchange of ideas, insights, and states of mind.
Together with the wonderful instrumentalists from the orchestra of the State Opera - Burgas, the Splitists presented an impressive concert program, completed as a musical-aesthetic project of the highest level.
Those present in the hall went through different states of mind, guided by the musical motifs, changing atmosphere, and moods, respectively, the natural seasons, to which Piazzolla's last work was dedicated.
Astor Piazzolla's music reaches not only the senses, but also the subconscious fields, as it carries a palette of emotions, tells touching human stories and feelings, whispers forgotten secrets about the essence of existence, purifies, catalyzes sensations, sings with the nostalgic timbre of a fateful song...
The renowned Bulgarian bandoneonist Stoyan Karaivanov, who deserved the privilege of playing the historical Alfred Arnold "semi nacarado" bandoneon from 1935, which is one of the few instruments preserved in perfect condition, performed at the usual exceptional level - both as a technical performance and as a brilliant presentation of the musical themes - individually and in a duet - with the other delightful soloist - Prof. Tsvetan Nedyalkov, guitar, and in creative symbiosis with the musicians of the orchestra with concertmaster Hristo Belchev, with whom they built the exciting and exquisite presented construction of the works.
The virtuoso guitarist Prof. Dr. Tsvetan Nedyalkov, head of the AIP department at the Vocal Faculty of the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov", an undeniable favorite of both the general audience and connoisseurs, performed with his characteristic ease, precision, mature emotionality, subordinate to the logic of the musical fabric, and personal charisma.
Behind the console was Prof. Deyan Pavlov, who was a skilled leader of the process through which the perfection of the musical motifs was recreated.
At the end of the concert, he congratulated the concertmaster and the leaders of the instrumental groups for the wonderful presentation and professional performance of Piazzolla's characteristic music, which requires flair and soul to be interpreted appropriately and captivate the senses.
The event was honored with the traditional basket of flowers on behalf of the Mayor of Burgas Municipality - Mr. Dimitar Nikolov.
Stoyan Karaivanov played the role of host, who presented to the audience the idea of the concert and the most essential of the conceptual concept of each of the works, with charm, approach, and wit, and maestro Pavlov complemented his presentation with his characteristic sense of humor and warm attitude towards the audience.
After the concert, the communication between the performers and the delighted audience continued with personal conversations and souvenir photos with the musicians and the conductor.
