20 october 2021 "Sleeping Beauty" - For A Noble Cause

Tonight with the charity performance of the ballet extravaganza "Sleeping Beauty" to the music of P.I.Tchaikovsky, directed by Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov, tutor of the ballet troupe of the Burgas Opera - Galina Kalcheva, assistant director - Peter Tiholov, art proved another way that it could be successfully subordinated to a noble social cause.

The ballet performance was held in a full hall - at the allowable capacity, under the patronage of the Regional Governor Prof. Maria Neykova and with the inclusion of the Municipality of Burgas, Aytos Municipality, Sozopol Municipality, Primorsko Municipality in the charity cause for raising funds for the treatment of 5-year-old Chrissy. / Kristian Stoyanov / from Burgas, who needs stem cell treatment abroad.
The evening, which brought together public figures and citizens who are sympathetic to the fate of little Chrissy, whose parents are fighting for his life to be normal and happy, proved that even in times of trial, human attitudes are not forgotten, on the contrary.
The wish of the director of the State Opera - Burgas Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, expressed in his introductory words before the performance - in the language of art, the Burgas cultural institution to continue to help realize such charitable causes, was realized - through the means of ballet - beautiful, inspired, with finesse and empathy for the noble goal.
Bright, colorful, with an aristocratic glow, were all the images that created the magic of the stage tonight. Prima ballerina Ivanina Ivanova was radiant with elegance and purity of soul like Princess Aurora, with filigree details of her performance. The Prime Minister-ballet dancer Emil Yordanov was charismatic, stable, and completely in line with the appearance and posture of the image of Prince Desiree. Polina Ivanova, who made a brilliant debut in the past 2020 in the role of Aurora, tonight was unquestionably convincing in her debut as the Good Fairy Lilac - patron of Aurora. The whirlwind Natalie Ivanova also made a strong debut - like the evil fairy Karabos, who enchants the princess and dooms her to a long dream. Successfully fit into the beautiful overall vision of the ballet performance and: Svetlan Nikolov, as King Florestan, Maria Gabarova - as the Queen/debut/, Patricia Soares - Fairy of Tenderness, Raya Chakarova - Fairy of Fertility, Sabina Koseva - Fairy of Generosity, Iva Ovcharova - The Fairy of Carelessness, Laya Ramon - Fairy of Courage, who was also in the image of Princess Florina / debut /. Teodor Tsakov presented himself in the role of the Blue Bird. In the ensemble of the Four Knights of Princess Aurora were: Teodor Tsakov, Daniel Tichkov, Kiril Filipov, and Stefan Tipikov. Kiril Filipov was also in the image of the Wolf, together with Iva Ovcharova - Little Red Riding Hood. Ivana Fialkovska and Daniel Tichkov took part in the "The Cat in Boots" stage. Branimir Nedkov was the master of ceremonies of Catalabut. All the artists from the ballet ensemble at the State Opera, as well as graduates from the ballet classes at NUMSI “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov ”- Burgas and Children's Ballet School“ Kapka ”.
With "Sleeping Beauty" the audience became an accomplice in a charitable cause and a noble mission - we wish a successful end to the treatment of 5-year-old Kristian Stoyanov!
Thanks to all the artists, to Galina Kalcheva - choreographer, to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev - for the outstretched hand in the name of building a bridge between art and social cause, to Prof. Maria Neykova - for the initiative, including a series of events. The Municipality of Burgas, which provided a large amount of money to buy tickets for the charity show, as well as other municipal administrations, civic associations, and loyal fans of ballet, turned the evening dedicated to 5-year-old Chrissy, a celebration of Good.
At the end of the successful performance, flower baskets were presented on behalf of Prof. Maria Neykova, District Governor, and the Municipality of Sozopol.
