28 november 2022 "Troubadour" With a Magnificent Artistic Cast&A Guest Conductor
After the series of memorable concerts, opera, ballet, and children's productions in the program of the Burgas Opera for November, the last event in the calendar that promises strong emotions is coming - the opera "Troubadour" by Giuseppe Verdi - on November 30, Wednesday, at 7 p.m. in the hall of Opera Burgas. A conductor, soloists, orchestra, choir and ballet will bring exciting stage life to a performance that will tell the sad story of a tragic intertwining of human destinies in one of Verdi's most beautiful operas.
The Troubadour is one of Giuseppe Verdi's most popular operas because of its dramatic plot and images that have become iconic - the famous gypsy Azucena, the troubadour Manrico, the beautiful Leonora - with her pure soul and beautiful unhappy love, as well as Count Di Moon - with a repulsed and wounded heart, seeking hope in rematch and revenge. The beautiful music of Verdi will gather famous artists on the stage of the State Opera - Burgas.
Under the baton of the guest conductor from Romania, Matei Pop will be recreated - in shocking emotion and aesthetic-visual completeness, a sad tale - about the commandments of ancestral memory, about the chains of revenge, about the tragic end of a strong - as intensity, and marked with beauty and sublimity human feeling bearing the burden of the curse. Attendees at the Opera House on Wednesday will immerse themselves in the dynamics of the characters' fateful line, haunting the senses and carrying messages beyond time.
In the dramatic role of the troubadour Manrico, for whom the stars have assigned a thorny fate, strewn with fateful obstacles, an encounter with pure love, and the inevitable tragedy of redemption, the Burgas audience will have the pleasure of seeing and listening to the tenor Peño Pirozov /guest/, who is the leading soloist at the "Stefan Makedonski" DMBC - Sofia / Musical Theater/ and will make his debut in the role on the Burgas stage. He did not hide his excitement about the upcoming debut in the image of Manrico, expressing his gratitude to the management of the Opera House and his colleagues for the pleasant and fruitful work process during the preparation of the performance, which is a classic reading of Verdi's opera, in an interview with Burgas TV Channel 0.
As Leonora, the Burgas audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the tender, beautiful soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova, who made her brilliant debut in the role, in partnership with world tenor Kamen Chanev in his last performance of "Troubadour" on the Burgas stage - in July 2020, on the stage of the Summer Theater, months before he left the earthly world. Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova was reincarnated in the image of Leonora in last year's edition of the "Opera of the Sanctuary" of the Thracian sanctuary of Begliktash.
In the role of the controversial dramatic figure of Count Di Luna, we will see the baritone Alexander Krunev, who builds the image not only with artistic padding but also with the help of a remarkable vocal technique. The famous baritone, a long-time soloist of the Burgas Opera, recently celebrated his 60th anniversary. In his artistic career, he has recreated a number of memorable images and is considered a singer who is characterized by stability and can be relied on at any moment.
Daniela Dyakova will take on the role of Azucena - a crowning role for the superb mezzo-soprano. The Iconic Gypsy is a collective image of tragedy, long-hidden pain, a tearing sense of duty to the blood commandment and the messages of the family, and a quest to arrange the fateful solitaire, seeking redemption and revenge. As Ferrando, the head of the palace guard, the audience will see the bass Kostadin Mechkov, who performed in the role of "Sanctuary Opera" 2021 - Begliktash. As Ines, Leonora's trusted friend, the mezzo-soprano Lina Peeva, who is also the assistant director of the production, along with Petar Tiholov, appears on stage. Ruiz will be Lubomir Todorov, Nikolay Nikolov will play the role of the Old Gypsy, and Milen Dinolov will be the Messenger. The orchestra, choir, and ballet of the State Opera - Burgas take part in the large-scale performance.
The impressive direction and scenography, containing semiotic elements, as well as the beautiful costumes, completely in the spirit of the represented era, are the work of Ivan Savov. The conductor of the choir - the main participant in the development of the drama of the stage action - is Nevena Mihaylova. The plastic is by Galina Kalcheva. The concertmaster is Hristo Belchev,
Don't miss the classic interpretation of the shocking tragic story - about doomed love, about the dictates of family memory, about the torn between duty and the call of the heart - on Wednesday, November 30, at 7 p.m. in the hall of the Burgas Opera House!
