07 may 2024 Over 100 Perrformers On Stage In "Carmina Burana"&"Paquita"

On May 10 at 7 p.m. in the hall of the State Opera - Burgas, two wonderful works will be presented - the magnificently sounding and impressive with the power of its impact on the senses and the mind, the stage cantata "Carmina Burana" by Karl Orff and Variations in Act III of the ballet "Pahita" by Ludwig Minkus. Over 100 performers will perform on the stage of the Burgas Opera on Friday: soloists, orchestra, choir, and ballet of the State Opera - Burgas. The conductor of the performance is the great Bulgarian conductor Ivan Kozhuharov, who a few days ago was behind the desk of the exceptional performance of "Samson and Delilah" by Camille Saint-Saëns, and the direction, impressive with its philosophical interpretation and depth, is by Darina Glavanakova-Bakerdzhieva, an artist Maria Trendafilova, the choreography is by Zelka Tabakova, the choir conductor is Alexander Chepanov, the assistant director of the production is Lina Peeva. The verses from medieval poets, which served as the basis of the cantata "Carmina Burna", will be performed by the soloists - Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova, soprano, Andreya Mirchev, tenor /for the first time will be performed in the title on the Burgas stage/, and Valeri Turmanov - baritone. Soloists of the ballet, which has a major role in the stage action, will be Yana Berduta, soloist of the ballet ensemble, and Daniel Tichkov - premier ballet dancer of the State Opera - Burgas. The performance is performed with subtitles in Bulgarian. "Carmina Burana" is one of the most famous and performed works from the world's musical treasury. The leitmotif of the stage cantata is a philosophical interpretation of a difficult transition from youth to maturity. The work is inspired by the original text of "Carmina Burana" - a group of itinerant preachers who conclude that the world is not governed by the moral principles that were instilled in them. Then they create a circle of people who follow the rules of virtue and plunge fully and passionately into a life of hedonism—seeking pleasure and living through it. The plot develops ideas born from the imagination of these young people. The Gothic myth is recreated to the iconic music of Carl Orff. The theme of Evil and the symbolism associated with its influence on human souls is developed in the plot line, which presents a society eaten away by sins, without fear of retribution from above. The points are wine, women, entertainment, debauchery, seeking new and new stimuli that provoke the senses. Irony and parody of clichés are characteristic of the plot of the cantata. "Carmina Burana" is a syncretic work in which music, dance, and impressive scenography flow into a single whole. The 25 songs in the cantata are by unknown authors - troubadours from the Middle Ages and are grouped into three sections: about spring, wine, and love, thus uniting the main aspects of human existence. The cantata "Carmina Burana" will once again show its powerful impact - as a philosophical depth and interpretation of eternal life questions and dilemmas, presenting the polyphonic ideas in which music, dance, and original scenography are symbiotically intertwined. The leitmotif "Oh, Fortuna!" is the meaning framework of the cantata – symbolically turning the wheel of Fate. That evening, the Burgas public will once again have the opportunity to watch the ballet "Pahita" by Ludwig Minkus, choreographed by Marius Petipa. The production is by Galina Kalcheva. Behind the conductor's desk stands again the doyen Ivan Kozhuharov, the assistant director is Petar Tikholov. The soloists of the variations in Act III of "Pakhita" will be: the prima ballerina of the Burgas Opera Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova and Teodor Tsakov, the soloist of the ballet company. In the temperamental ballet scenes, saturated with dynamics and presented with high technical mastery, soloists and an ensemble of the ballet of the State Opera-Burgas take part. "Pakhita" is a classical ballet piece that I especially love," says Galina Kalcheva, who played in the production of "Pakhita" by the famous Russian ballerina and choreographer Lyubov Fominikh on the Burgas stage years ago. "On the stage of the Burgas Opera on Friday, individual variations of the work will be performed, which show the artist's mastery in the best way. "Pahita" is a very appropriate title for maintaining the shape of the ballet troupe," added Kalcheva.
