16 april 2024 Burgas Soloists With Matinee On Saturday

The last, eighth, concert from the "Soloists of the State Opera - Burgas" series is coming up on Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. in the lobby of the Burgas Cultural Institute, which has already established itself as a preferred place for chamber music events. The program will include pre-classic works, arias, and duets from classical opera works, as well as popular canzonets. In the next event of the chamber series of the Burgas Opera, which began in October 2023, the soloists will be: soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova, tenor Andreya Mirchev, and baritone Valeri Turmanov, on the piano will be Daria Krasteva and Sergey Sultanov. Natalya Sultanova, violinist, will also take part in the concert.

The soloist of the Burgas Opera Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova was irresistible in the role of Franziska Kanyari in the opera by Johann Strauss-son "Blood of Vienna" - in March of this year, in February she was an emotional whirlwind, spreading charm, with an intelligent feeling for humor in another famous Strauss-son operetta - "The Bat", in the past 2023 she also sang in another Strauss title - "Gypsy Baron", in the role of Arsene, both on the stage of the Summer Theater and in the hall of the Opera. Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova was also memorable as Mikaela in Georges Biez's opera "Carmen" - on the open stage of the Thracian sanctuary of Begliktash, on the last night of the spectacular festival "Opera of the Sanctuary" 2023, and on the stage of the Burgas Opera House - in November, in the opera "Ball with Masks" by Giuseppe Verdi - on the stage of the Summer Theater and at the opening of the "Scene of the Centuries" festival in Veliko Tarnovo, in the role of Gilda - in Verdi's masterpiece "Rigoletto", as well as in other opera titles and chamber performances of the Burgas Opera.

The charming soprano will also participate in the Easter concert of the State Opera - Burgas, under the baton of the doyen in the Bulgarian cultural space - maestro Yordan Dafov - on May 2 at 7 p.m. in the Opera hall, together with Ioana Kadiyska, Yani Nikolov and Kostadin Mechkov. Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova sang with both her colleagues in several chamber concerts: Opera Gala with Slavil Dimitrov, "O, sole mio" - with Andrey Mirchev, a vocal concert dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff's birth, "Evening of the French music", "Flowers for Tsvetnitsa", etc.

This is what the soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova tells – fascinatingly and with an undisguised bias, emotional and philosophical justification, and affinity for the chamber genre and the works she has selected, which she will perform on Saturday:

“Hyuga. Ikigai. Saudade. Duende. Four different words that have a magical meaning. In this fast-paced, noisy, and digitized world, I wish we could look inside ourselves and hear the silence. Hyuga is a Danish word and means "the art of creating comfort and making you happy". Ikigai Japanese word composed of two Iki-life, and Gai-value. According to Japanese culture, everyone carries their ikigai, but they can reach it if they work on their inner balance and develop their skills as a creators. The joy of waking up and the smile with which you do so. Saudade – a Portuguese word that brings together all the states, encounters, and emotions that have excited us, awakened our senses, and made us feel alive! Duende - a Spanish word meaning "to have a soul", that spark that some individuals carry and make them Creators.

It may be strange, but I will try to put these magic words in the music of composers who are not from Denmark, Spain, Portugal and Japan. I will try to show you that you can feel Hyuga when you listen to Reinaldo Hann. Or to be together in one "Saudade" through Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninov, and Tchaikovsky. "Ikigai" - with Richard Strauss and "Duende" - with Florov and Dvořák.

I'm looking forward to the concert. I will have the pleasure of sharing the stage with Andreia, Valery, Sergey, and Natalya."

The youngest soloist of the Burgas Opera - Andreya Mirchev - will perform at the concert on Saturday. A few days ago, in addition to the opera gala "Viva Puccini", the tenor performed brilliantly in the role of Alfred Germont in the opera "La Traviata" by Giuseppe Verdi, in a stage partnership with Vera Girginova /guest/ and Alexander Krunev. Andreia also made his successful debut in the complex - both vocally and psychologically - role of Pinkerton in the opera "Madame Butterfly" by Puccini - on the tour in Shumen and Razgrad in February of this year. In the past 2023, the young tenor had his remarkable debut in the role of Count Almaviva in "The Barber of Seville" by Rossini - in August at the Summer Theater in Burgas. Andreya Mirchev also participated in the Opera Gala under the baton of Slavil Dimitrov, in the solemn concert on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Alexander Krunev, under the baton of Deyan Pavlov, in the Easter concert, under the baton of Yordan Dafov, as well as participation in some chamber concerts.

The baritone Valery Turmanov is well-known to the Burgas public - with his masterful incarnations in many opera roles: Escamilio in "Carmen" by Bizet, Don Juan in the opera of the same name by V. A. Mozart, Silvio in "Pagliacci" by Leoncavallo, etc. with his participation in the cantata "Carmina Burana" by Karl Orff, "Ball with Masks" by Verdi", as well as with several opera galas and chamber concerts. During the current creative season, he performed in the image of Sharpless in Puccini's masterpiece "Madame Butterfly" in front of a large audience in Burgas, Razgrad, and Shumen.

A few days ago, on April 5, in the hall of the Burgas Opera, Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova, Andreya Mirchev, and Valeri Turmanov participated in a large-scale opera gala "Viva Puccini", dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth and 100th anniversary of the death of Giacomo Puccini, under the baton of maestro Dimitar Kosev.

At the piano on Saturday will be: Daria Krasteva, who is an accompanist at the Burgas Opera with many solo performances, and the young pianist Sergey Sultanov, who has recently been an accompanist at the Burgas Opera, and the concert will be his first stage appearance. An interesting addition to the voice and piano program will be the violin's gentle timbre, performed by Natalya Sultanova, the pianist's wife.

In the concert program on Saturday, less-known and more popular vocal works, arias, and duets from the world music literature will be performed.
