Within the framework of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov", realized with the partnership of the Municipality of Burgas, this summer the State Opera - Burgas has not forgotten its youngest spectators. The "Children's Summer" program includes three titles loved by children, which will bring mood, smiles, and a pinch of lessons for them. The first of the titles for children is the musical performance in the style of "Disney" "Pinocchio" by Alexander Yosifov, based on the fairy tale "The Adventures of Pinocchio" by Carlo Collodi - on July 20, Monday, from 20.00, on the stage of the Summer Theater - Burgas.

The direction, scenography, costumes and sculptures of the magnificent show are by Denis Ivanov. Conductor-producer is Tsanislav Petkov. The assistant directors are Lina Peeva and Petar Tiholov. In the roles the children and their parents or companions will see: Branimir Nedkov - Pinocchio, Petar Tiholov - Dzhepeto / Father Carlo /, Malvina - Stefka Hristozova, Lisana - Lina Peeva, Kotaran - Miroslav Dimitrov, Uncle Monti - Diman Panchev, Harlequin - Milen Dinolov, Pulcinella - Vessela Apostolova, Carabinieri - Ivan Grozev, Bartender - Alexander Perperliev, Judge and Doctor - Veselin Spasov.

The children's opera "Pinocchio" by the composer Alexander Yosifov was staged for the first time on the stage of the State Opera - Burgas on February 24, 2018.

The young director, set designer, costume, and make-up artist at Pinocchio - Denis Ivanov graduated in Classical Singing and Music and Stage Directing at the Pancho Vladigerov National Music Academy. academy. The young artist, gifted with versatile talent, strives to avoid "irritating patterns" in children's performances. He describes himself as a generation who grew up with the art of Walt Disney, which also influenced his work. From the fairytale animations, he takes beauty and fantasy. "That's the way to look at a children's show as a genre," he says. According to him, it is the most difficult to make a play for children, because this audience is the most frank, the most sensitive to falsehood, to good and bad.

For decades, the children of Burgas have not entered the opera hall and have perceived opera as too elitist, even boring. Our goal is to show the little ones that this is something interesting. We want them to recognize this art, to know that in the hall, they will not feel uncomfortable, that it will bring them mood and emotions ", says the director of the Burgas Opera Alexander Tekeliev about the project.

The recorded orchestral accompaniment of Pinocchio is performed under the baton of the young conductor Tsanislav Petkov.

The play is a beautiful kaleidoscope of a beloved fairy tale plot, characters who have acquired dimensions of relics - for children and adults, emotionality, drama, touching denouements and, of course, the ubiquitous lesson of fairy tales, which reminds us that no matter how wise to consider ourselves, we cannot escape the things that taught us when we were children - to be sincere, to do good deeds, to be devoted in our relationships and to keep in the most carefully guarded corner of our hearts the hope for the Blue Fairy which makes wishes come true…

The other two titles in the program "Children's Summer" are: "Max and Moritz" to the music of Alexander Yosifov, director - Alexander Tekeliev - on August 4, from 20.00, on the stage of the Summer Theater - Burgas, and "The Four Twins", a musical comedy by Georgi Kostov, directed by Alexander Tekeliev, on August 17, at 7.30 pm, also at the Summer Theater.
