The production of Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, which is being presented on the Burgas stage for the tenth time - after the memorable premiere on February 26, 2025, as well as in Plovdiv, Haskovo and Pazardzhik, has already taken on a mature appearance, without losing its spontaneity and the wonderful sense of humor embedded in the text and the interactions between the characters.
The artists perform the famous operetta by Kalman with unwavering pleasure, each time adding something original. The evening of July 23 turned into a celebration of the captivating story, a wonderful performance by all the soloists, together with the music energizing with life-affirming messages, filled with scope and professionalism by the orchestra - under the impeccable conducting of Ivan Kozhuharov, who each time gives the score an enviable energy with which he charges both singers and musicians, as well as the audience, for whom the performance was certainly a wonderful experience.
Dizzy, charming, captivating and overly emotional were the soloists: Joanna Kadiyska - sweeping Silva, Penyo Pirozov - moving to tears Edwin, Yordan Hristozov - super funny as Bonnie, Maria Yurkovskaya - charming Stasi, Diman Panchev - unique Ferry, Miroslav Dimitrov - emblematic in the role of the footman Mishka, Irina Dobrovolskaya - dignified in the image of Tsilika, Milen Dinolov - artistic and colorful as the Notary Kish, Petar Tiholov - memorable in the characteristic role of the Prince, and Emil Peychev - respectful as the General.
The overall fusion of all elements of the performance, the wonderful performance of the soloists, musicians, artists from the choir and ballet ensemble was present - in a lush, exciting and restrained aesthetic spectacle.
The event was another in the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov" 2026 program, organized for the nineteenth time by the State Opera - Burgas and the Municipality of Burgas.
