02 may 2024 Delightful Easter Concert On Maundy Thursday

In the extraordinary days before the great Christian holiday Easter, in Holy Week - on Maundy Thursday, when it is time for spiritual recapitulation, humility, and worship to the Divine dimensions of self-sacrifice and the resurrection of faith in the original values, Burgas State Opera presented its traditional EASTER CONCERT / EASTER CONCERT - as a priceless gift with imperishable dimensions to the residents of Burgas and the guests of the city.
Under the baton of the doyen in the Bulgarian cultural space - maestro Yordan Dafov, who manages to give every event the aura of dedication to the mystery of high art and the spiritual dimensions of the path to Perfection, this evening soloists, choir, and orchestra created a symbolic bow to the holy days before The Resurrection of Christ and before the genius of the two composers whose works were performed - Wagner and Beethoven.
In the hall of the Burgas Opera House, as in a temple, the majestic ones sounded: Overture to the opera "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"/ "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"/ by Richard Wagner and Mass in C major, opus 86 for soloists, choir and orchestra by Ludwig van Beethoven. The large-scale work of the cantata-oratorio genre, the bearer of Betonov's restless spirit, drama, and intense emotionality was performed for the first time on the stage of Burgas.
The soloists of the Mass in C major were wonderful - both in terms of vision, presence, vocal prowess, and attitude to the significance of the event: Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova – soprano, Ioana Kadiyska – mezzo-soprano, Yani Nikolov – tenor and Kostadin Mechkov – bass.
Vanya Zlateva was the concertmaster of the orchestra, who distinguished himself with an exact performance. The choir with conductor Alexander Chepanov, was also at the height of the overall perception of the majestic music - with perfectly built dynamics and balance in the overall sound.
During the solemn concert, as an aesthetic addition and a symbol of respect to the event, the Burgas Cultural Institute, the great Bulgarian conductor-maestro Yordan Dafov, and the music of the two great composers were the baskets of flowers on behalf of Prof. Maria Neikova - regional governor of the Region Burgas, and Mr. Dimitar Nikolov - Mayor of Burgas Municipality.
The event was honored by representatives of the Regional and Municipal Administration.
In the days before Easter, the State Opera - Burgas wishes for a calm and harmonious Christmas, peacemaking, good and philanthropic thoughts, transformed into good earthly deeds!
