19 october 2026 Dramatic Passions With "La Traviata" on Friday at the Opera

On Friday, October 23rd, at 7:00 PM, the stage of the State Opera – Burgas will host a performance of Verdi’s masterpiece, *La Traviata*. Distinguished opera artists will unfold the tragic tale of a beautiful love—driven by pure, heartfelt impulses yet overshadowed by prejudice and the relentless hand of fate. The production will be conducted by Ivan Kozhuharov, a renowned Bulgarian maestro with an acclaimed international career, who serves as the Chief Conductor of the State Opera – Burgas and is an Honorary Citizen of Burgas.
This work—one of the most frequently performed operas—will serve as a highlight within the rich and diverse program of the Burgas Opera.
The role of the tragic heroine, Violetta Valéry, will be portrayed by the wonderful soprano Ilina Mihaylova—well-known to Burgas audiences for her brilliant performances in *My Fair Lady*, *The Barber of Seville*, *Rigoletto*, *Zarzuela: Fire and Passion*, *Love Without Translation*, and others.
Appearing alongside her as her beloved Alfredo Germont will be the charismatic Venezuelan tenor Reynaldo Droz.
The role of his father, Giorgio Germont, will be performed by the distinguished Bulgarian baritone Alexander Krunev. The charming mezzo-soprano Maria Yurkovskaya takes on the role of Flora Bervoix, a friend from the Parisian social scene.
 The entire cast is brilliant.
The story of *La Traviata* is timeless and always captivating!
Don’t miss this aesthetic experience of high artistic and emotional value!
