The eternal story of seduction, deceived hopes, insidiousness, curses, and sinister denouement, woven into the libretto of one of the most famous and beloved operas by Giuseppe Verdi - "Rigoletto", will come to life on the stage of the Burgas Opera on October 14, Thursday, from 19 hours. The musical-scenic story of the hunchbacked jester Rigoletto, the only joy in his simple life - his beautiful daughter Gilda, the conscientious Duke, a unifying image of meanness, as well as all the characters of the tragic tale of deceived trust will be told. The characters of one of Verdi's most famous operas will endow the audience with a variety of experiences during the performance - from admiration for the power of pure naive love, destroyed by insensibility, to the tragic hopelessness of the repressed impulses.

The story that generates strong emotions will be told by a magnificent creative and artistic ensemble - through the means of syncretic opera. The conductor is maestro Ivan Kozhuharov, who just a few days ago conducted the brilliant premiere of Rossini's The Barber of Seville at the Burgas Opera. The direction, which relies on the complex relationships between the actors and psychology, is by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, the artist is Ivan Popov, conductor of the choir - also an important participant in the overall action, is Nevena Mihaylova, concertmaster - Hristo Belchev, assistant -director - Peter Tiholov. The subtitles, which allow the audience to fully follow what is happening on stage, are the work of Srebrina Slavova.

The young soprano Dimitrina Kechedzhieva / guest / made her debut in the role of Gilda. She will incarnate in the naive girl, living in her small world, built of dreaminess, which has nothing to do with reality and meeting a cunning seducer, falls into his demonic trap, which portends her certain doom. The contradictory image of the jester Rigoletto will be recreated by the baritone Alexander Krunev - for him, this is a crowning role, successfully presented on various stages over 100 times. The tenor Daniel Damyanov enters the image of the Duke of Mantua, the self-satisfied unscrupulous seducer and bon vivant.

The bass Diman Panchev will be in the role of the robber Sparafuchile, the Mezzo-soprano Joanna Kadiyska will debut in the image of Madalena, the sister of Sparafuchile, Kalina Popova will be Giovanna, Count Monterone - Delyan Slavov, Count Cheprano - Petar Tiholov, Countess Chepralanova - Shmiru Branimir Nedkov / debut /, Mateo Borsa - Valyu Totev, Page - Aglika Petrova. The libretto of Verdi's famous Rigoletto is by Francesco Maria Piave, based on Victor Hugo's play Le Roi s`amuse / The King Has Fun / 40 days. The original name of the opera, The Curse, was later changed several times. Due to censorship, some changes in the libretto are required, with an emphasis on the inner drama of the characters.
