11 april 2022 Dynamics&Humor With a Modern Sound In IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA
On Thursday, April 14, at 7 pm in the hall of the State Opera - Burgas, the fourth performance of the new production of "The Barber of Seville", a two-act comic opera by Gioachino Rossini, guarantees a bouquet of smiles and a high mood. The two premieres in October 2021, as well as the third show - in December, passed with expected success and a large audience. The modern super-entertaining interpretation of one of the most beloved operas is enriched with elements of social satire - presented through the particularly successful and up-to-date directorial hits of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, combined with the original avant-garde overall vision of the performance and costume designer Denis Ivanov.
The overall stage product is a dizzying impact - the creative and artistic team is first class, the scenography and costumes are colorful, innovative, captivating, and Rossini's music - ingenious and always relevant. The production has accumulated creative inertia with an increasingly influential charge and continues to acquire a more mature appearance.
Everyone who will be "involved" in the emotional adventure on the Burgas stage on Thursday in the hall of the Burgas Opera is preparing in high spirits for the next stage challenge. Maestro Ivan Kozhuharov is behind the conductor's stand on April 14, who recently conducted the ballet "Pahita" by Ludwig Minkus and the stage cantata "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff on the Burgas stage. It is a well-known fact that the famous maestro creates to perfection every detail of the score - such as building dynamics, gradation, balance, and intellectual charge. The concertmaster of the wonderful orchestra will be Vanya Zlateva, who last month was awarded the "Crystal Necklace" - the highest award of the Union of Bulgarian Music and Dance. The soloists on Thursday are also magnificent: baritone Marian Jovanoski, who was a real artistic fury at the premiere performance on October 8, 2021, re-enters the image of the most famous barber of all time - Figaro, who is a copy of Elvis Presley and the style of the 1970s. The brilliant baritone manages to preserve every detail of the musical text, adding the original touches to the image, which evokes real sympathy and, of course, a lot of laughter.
Lyric-Spinto tenor Nikolay Motsov / guest / for the fourth time enters the role of Count / Sheikh / Almaviva. Colorful, emotionally impactful, and with each passing performance - enriched with new artistic nuances, is his stage performance. The tenor expands the parameters of the complex humorous image with inventions that fit into the overall concept of the production and are welcomed by the audience, eager for fun originality.
The role of the wayward charming coquette Rosina is played by the charismatic mezzo-soprano Ioana Kadiyska. The party requires filigree vocal technique, extreme ease of interpretation, and finesse, and Kadiyska did her best in her dream role - the second premiere of "The Barber of Seville" - on October 26, 2021. Baritone Yordan Hristozov debuted in the role of the annoying D- p Bartolo, whose insidious plans are thwarted by the friendly association of Figaro, Rosina, Bertha, and all involved in the super-funny storyline. Dr. Bartolo's role is key to the overall development and requires serious vocal and artistic capacity. The bassist Diman Panchev will again provoke an explosion of emotions and sincere laughter with the image of Don Basilio. Diman Panchev enters the role for the fourth time and brilliantly presents the intriguing attitudes and the consequences of a masterfully invented and worked-out slander in society. Nona Krasnikova, the soprano who was as irresistible as Bertha at the premiere performance - shockingly charming and defiantly charming in the role of the housekeeper, who has an affinity for wine and men ... and more. Nona Krasnikova is also great as a musical build of the difficult vocal part. Baritone Branimir Nedkov will once again present himself in a whirlwind artistic and bright role of Fiorello and the Officer. All artists in the choir / with conductor Nevena Mihaylova / have a particularly important role in the plot development and the overall director's concept, each of whom has an individual artistic task and performs sketches saturated with a great sense of humor.
Every professional from the team behind the completed vision and messages of the large-scale production of The Barber of Seville has gathered his energy charge in a homogeneous whole, and invariably causes sincere surprise and admiration in the audience at each performance. Mira Iskarova will perform the piano recitatives, assistant directors are Lina Peeva and Petar Tiholov, accompanist - Iliana Todorova, subtitles are the work of Srebrina Slavova, Dora Fartunova is responsible for props and prompter, makeup and wigs successfully cares, Kalina Popova successfully cares in the role of Bertha at the show in December.
The fresh, bold, sympathetically provocative, and provocatively innovative show of The Barber of Seville on Thursday, April 14, will once again throw a glove to the audience - opening sensitive contemporary topics in a non-standard reading with a touch of social satire with psychological nuances - the rhythm of the "steps of time" ...
One positive sign did not go unnoticed during the performances of "The Barber of Seville" - there are many young people in the audience, and this is a sure indication that the production meets the expectations and tastes of a generation that obviously needs art. in a different way.
