19 november 2024 An Exciting Performance of "Madame Butterfly" At the Opera House
The mood tonight in the hall of the Burgas State Opera was slightly contemplative - with the sad story from the East with MADAM BUTTERFLY / MADAMA BUTTERFLY - one of the masterpieces of the soul-scientist Giacomo Puccini.
Everything characteristic of a spectacle of the highest rank of aesthetic perception was present tonight - exciting musical drama, conveying the storyline through the musical text, excellent singers, recreating the charge of the tragic story, a wonderfully sounding orchestra - under the baton of Ivan Kozhuharov, an overall suggestion of doom, with a halo of beautiful self-sacrifice.
Admirations for all the brilliant soloists - the magnificent and completely dedicated to the creation of the stage images: Yoana Zhelezcheva, Georgi Dinev /guest/, Alexander Krunev, Yoana Kadiyska, Kalina Popova, Valyo Totev, Kostadin Mechkov, Lyubomir Todorov, Ivan Grozev, Blagovesta Beleva and Stefka Hristozova, as well as the artists from the choir - delicately complementing the picture, recreating the Japanese way of life, culture, traditions and worldview.
The brilliant stage tandem Yoana Zhelezcheva - Georgi Dinev flawlessly recreated the drama of a doomed love, going through the metamorphoses of passion, despair, and the collapse of hope.
Authentic and with a bright stage presence in recreating the roles of Suzuki and Sharpless were Yoana Kadiyska and Alexander Krunev.
All the artists on stage tonight were completely dedicated to Eastern symbolism. Through Puccini's music, mysticism, and extraordinaryness peeks deep into the spiritual spaces...
At the end of the performance, traditional baskets of flowers were presented on behalf of Prof. Maria Neykova, Regional Governor of Burgas Region, and Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, Mayor of Burgas Municipality. In turn, Alexander Krunev presented one of the baskets to the orchestra's musicians, who were "behind the scenes," but without their irreplaceable presence, no performance could be realized.
