04 november 2022 A Full Hall Of The "Reformer"
A wonderful atmosphere was created this evening by the concert performance GERASIM GEORGIEV-GERO IN THE "REFORMATOR" /PREMIER/ in the hall of the Burgas State Opera.
Expected success, unexpected artistic role of the audience's favorite Gerasim Georgiev - Gero Gerasim Georgiev, in the role of "parachute" director of the Opera, traditionally high level - and of the orchestra - with concertmaster Hristo Belchev, who was the object of frequent attacks from to the newly appointed director - in the thread of the script, of course, and to the soloist Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova - soprano; wonderful young actors - Sonya Kovchezlieva Sonya Kovchezlieva and Ilian Bozhkov Ilian Bozhkov, and, of course, the unifying whole waterfall of emotions conductor's baton of Maestro Levon Manukyan Conductor.
The premiere of the new musical-stage project of the Burgas Opera, based on the idea and script of Julia Manukian, went unnoticed by the audience, who completely immersed themselves in the mood in the hall, combining pure entertainment with bitter life truths.
An hour and a half of almost continuous laughter, garnished with popular musical motifs, was the performance of the "Reformer", which promises to become a stage hit.
In addition to Gero's intriguing lines, the secretary Bajakova/Sonya Kovchezlieva/, Ilian Bozhkov, in the role of the trade unionist, was surprised by the inclusion of musicians from the orchestra with fun artistic tasks. And they did it with a visible desire and they certainly had fun.
In addition to entertaining dialogues escalating to social satire, in "The Reformer" the script provided for a thematic musical program, including popular and beloved titles that impressed the idea: "Hungarian Dance" No. 5 by Johannes Brahms, "Musical Moment" by Robert Schumann, "Little Night Music" by W. A. Mozart, parts of "Pizzicato Polka" by Johann Schraus, "Libertango" by Astor Piazzolla, a compilation of famous works by Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, Leroy Anderson, " O, sole mio" and "O, mio babbino caro" - with soloist soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova, treatment of Bulgarian folk motifs, as well as the emblematic "Buba Mara" by Goran Bregovic, during which the whole hall applauded.
Completely in sync with Gero's brilliantly presented image of a director who comes from the field of agriculture and has no idea of the specifics of working in a cultural institute, the beloved charismatic actor performed the song "False Hero" by the unforgettable Todor Kolev.
And his final words, addressed to the standing audience, were:
"And I hope there will never be such directors - neither in opera houses, nor in drama theaters, nor in museums, nor in any cultural institute..."
Of course, there was an encore. And the smiles of those present in the full hall were an unequivocal attestation that the artists, musicians, conductor, screenwriter, technical services, and organizers did their job professionally.
At the end of the premiere concert performance, the traditional basket of flowers was presented on behalf of the mayor of the Municipality of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, as well as a floral greeting on behalf of the management of the State Opera - Burgas - for the soloists, the conductor and the screenwriter.
As befits any successful exciting event, there followed flowers, applause, photos from people in the audience for the heroes of the evening - the artists whose mission it is to keep our spirits up. Although.
