19 july 2025 Impressive Performance Of "Carmen" At "Stage Of The Ages"

Impressive - both in sound and visual perception, the performance of CARMEN IN VELIKO TARNOVO was created on the picturesque open-air stage of the historical relic for Bulgarians - the Tsarevets Fortress in the old capital city, at the "Stage of the Ages" Festival - Veliko Tarnovo under the baton of maestro Sunay Muratov.
The large-scale production of the Burgas State Opera was presented in its full capacity and stage brilliance by the entire cast of the Burgas Cultural Institute - over 200 soloists, musicians, artists from the choir and ballet, as well as the specialists "behind the scenes" - the technical services, who brilliantly coped with the logistics of the specific terrain of the "Tsarevets" hill.
The beautiful nature, the historical references of the natural decor, the timeless music of Georges Bizet, the top-class soloists, the masterful and inspired performance of all the artists from the choir and ballet ensemble, as well as the orchestra members, were united in a single feeling of festive grandeur.
Brilliant and irresistible were: it is no coincidence that the best Bulgarian Carmen - Daniela Dyakova, the brilliant - Valery Georgiev - in the role of Don José, Valery Turmanov - Escamilio, Ioana Zhelezcheva - in the image of Micaela, Diman Panchev - Tsuniga, Maria Slavova - Frasquita, Maria Yurkovskaya - Mercedes, Yanni Nikoloya - Remendadi, Andrey Yurkovsky - Dancairo, Yordan Hristozov - Morales.
Admiration for the professionally balanced, and at the same time, emotionally saturated, sound of the orchestra and choir, and the whirlwind performance of the ballet!
Under the summer starry dome of Tarnovgrad, a magical fusion of nature, music, and the eternal messages of a story as old as the world took place - about love, temptation, destructive passion, and foretold doom...
At the end of the performance, a basket of flowers was presented on behalf of Eng. Daniel Panov, Mayor of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, and Mr. Ventsislav Spiridonov, Chairman of the Municipal Council.
