08 august 2024 The Island Was Voiced By The Exiting Music of Edith Piaf

The last event of the summer program of the Burgas State Opera "Party on the Island" - the concert dedicated to the extraordinary personality of the "mistress of the chanson" - Edith Piaf - EDITH PIAF - NON, JE NE REGRETTE RIEN - EDITH PIAF, was the center of attraction for over 200 souls on the outdoor stage of St. Anastasia Island tonight.
The soloists of the Burgas Opera Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova and Nona Krastnikova, under the piano accompaniment of Stratsimir Pavlov, led the attendees along the symbolic moon path of the romantic worldview with the beautiful music of the "language of love", for which French is not accidentally crowned.
Charming presence, clothing, behavior, and intriguingly presented facts about the life of the most famous chansonette, the emotional arc between performers and audience, palpable love embedded in every word and musical phrase, the charm of an event that remains in the memory - all this, as a beautiful symbiosis, was present on the island scene.
The concert, which lasted an hour and a half, began with songs in French by classical composers, the so-called "melodies" - as Nona Krastnikova explained - all modern music, as well as the chanson, is based on the classics.
After the sophisticated musical prelude, the audience was enthralled by the songs of "The Sparrow", as Edith Piaf was called.
The dreamy looks of the people in the audience, the spontaneous touching of hands, and barely perceptible hugs were proof that everyone was like emotionally jumped vessels with the music that brings beauty, understanding and felt, even without understanding the meaning or the words...
The two soloists were wonderful, with perfect pronunciation in French, and the elegantly presented translations of the lyrics of the songs - the work of Diana Avelova, a young talented artist who studies and works in Paris, as well as Nona Krastnikova, who does not hide the affinity towards French culture and language.
The most famous and beloved melodies performed by the legendary Edith sounded: "Ne, je ne regrette rien", "La foule", "La vie en rose", "Hymne a l'amour", "Mon Dieu", "Soul la siel de Paris", "Padam, padam" etc.
Those present mentally walked through the romantic streets of Montmartre, along the waters of the Seine, at the foot of Notre Dame or the Bridge of Lovers and were transported for a piece of time to a beautiful protected reality, far from hardships and sadness...
The pianist and conductor Stracimir Pavlov, author of the arrangements, was also brilliant - with impressive improvisations, style, and taste.
At the end of the concert, the Governor of the Island - Pavlin Dimitrov, expressed his gratitude to the Burgas Opera and the audience of its events - for the class they bring to the island space.
The wind will long carry over the open sea the famous refrain "Falling, falling..." - to remind us of the meaning of art, the continuity, and the power of the messages encoded in Edith Piaf's songs...
