State Opera - Burgas has prepared an exciting concert performance under the title "The Reformer", which will bring a fresh humorous note to the autumn days. On Friday evening, November 4, at 7:00 p.m. in the Opera hall, the premiere of the new musical-stage project of the Burgas Cultural Institute will be held, which will delight the audience with a fascinating, humorous charge and popular scores.
The charming talent and stage presence of the audience favorite Gerasim Georgiev-Gero, the young talented actors Sonia Kovchezlieva, Ilian Bozhkov and the soloist of the State Opera - Burgas Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova will be partnered by the orchestra of the State Opera - Burgas, under the inspired baton of Maestro Levon Manukyan. Sonia Kovchezlileva is well known to the Burgas public from her performances in the concert performances "Romantic Comedy" and "It's Impossible Without Love", in a stage partnership with Nencho Balabanov. The two projects are also based on the idea and script of Yulia Manukyan, conducted by Levon Manukyan. The young actor Ilian Bozhkov became popular with his participation in the BNT series "Rumbata, me i Ronaldo". The idea and script of "The Reformer" are once again Yulia Manukyan, the arrangements presenting famous works in a new original form are the work of the conductor Levon Manukyan, who has serious professional experience in creating such exciting performances of hit musical motifs in a new author's reading . The young conductor has an affinity for stylishly sustained musical performances, underpinned with a strong emotional-meaningful charge. The "Reformer" continues the good tradition. At the beginning of October, another musical and stage project of the successful tandem Levon and Yulia Manukyan was launched, together with the orchestra of the Burgas Opera - "Golden songs from "The Golden Orpheus", with soloists Orlin Goranov and Margarita Hranova, which - after the successful premiere in Burgas, passed triumphantly on the stages of Pleven, Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv and Sliven, as the national tour continues.
The author of the original script of "The Reformer" Yulia Manukyan described the idea of the musical-stage project in a few words: "Can you imagine a director who is brought down from above without any qualifications? Because his profession is "Director" and that's enough! The great Gerasim Georgiev-Gero, assisted by his obedient secretary Sonya Kovchezlieva, falls into a total mess created by screenwriter Yulia Manukyan. Thrown directly into the "lion's cage" with the musicians of the State Opera-Burgas, the newly hatched director creates miracles out of madness in just one day. The greatest resistance will come from their conductor - Levon Manukyan! Let the battle begin now!
The audience should get ready for super fun verbal puns and dialogues that will present Gerasim Georgiev-Gero, as a director, lowered "from above" and having no idea of the order and relationships in a symphony orchestra, Sonia Kovchezlieva - in the role of his secretary, Ilian Bozhkov - as a representative of the musicians' union. In addition to the intriguing funny text, through which many truths about modern reality are said unobtrusively, the new project also includes a rich musical program, including popular and beloved titles: "Hungarian Dance" No. 5 by Johannes Brahms, "Musical Moment" by Robert Schumann, "Little Night Music" by W. A. Mozart, parts of "Pizzicato Polka" by Johann Strauss, "Masquerade" by Aram Khachaturian, "Perpetuum mobile" by Johann Strauss-son, "Libertango" by Astor Piazzolla, "Walk with a dog" by George Gershwin, "Pink, Plank, Plunk" by Leroy Anderson, "O, sole mio" and "O, mio babbino caro" - with soloist soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova. The diverse musical program also includes arrangements of Bulgarian folk songs, as well as Todor Kolev's emblematic "False Hero".
