One of the most successful Bulgarian conductors - maestro Yordan Dafov, will conduct the symphony concert in the hall of the Burgas Opera tomorrow, February 25, at 7 p.m. A few days ago, Maestro Dafov celebrated his 81st birthday. He continues to be energetic, precise, captivating with his refined individual view of the musical text. The renowned conductor manages to unite the energy charge of the orchestra and to create a complete aesthetic impression of the works performed under his master baton.
The soloist of the concert tomorrow is another prominent Bulgarian musician - the clarinetist Rosen Idealov, the concertmaster is Vanya Zlateva. The program of the concert includes: "Simple Symphonies" by the English composer Benjamin Britton, who created in the XX century. The musical material on which the work is based was written in the early years of the composer - piano pieces, which he created between 9 and 12 years of age. The score of "Simple Symphonies" was completed when Britton was only 20 years old. The symphony was written for string orchestra or quartet and was first performed in 1934. The work is dedicated to his viola teacher from his childhood. "Simple Symphonies" is a preferred repertoire of world orchestras, and is welcomed by the audience, not only because of its unpretentious title / "simple", "simple" symphony /, but also because it is captivating with its youthful spirit and immediacy.
Another work in the concert program is "Five Sketches for String Orchestra" by Marin Goleminov. Academician Marin Goleminov is a Herder Prize winner, a holder of the Order of Arts and Culture of France, he was the director of the Sofia Opera and rector of the National Academy of Music. His name is in the gallery of the most distinguished students of the Scola Cantorum in Paris, where he studied composition with Vincent D'Andy, Paul Duke, Guy de Lioncourt, and then specialized in Munich. His work has a modern laconic expression, combining the best of European musical aesthetics with his unique author's handwriting.
Apart from being a composer, Goleminov is also a critic, conductor, and professor at the Music Academy. Among his students are Plamen Djurov, Emil Tabakov, Stefan Dragostinov, Dimitar Hristov, and others. "Five sketches for string orchestra" is an integral part of the Bulgarian classics.
The well-selected and balanced program will also include the Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra in A major, KV622 by WA Mozart. The work reflects all the characteristic features of Mozart's creative genius, bringing unique finesse, lightness, emotional charge, and at the same time philosophical depth. The famous clarinetist Rosen Idealov will present the musical work with interpretive mastery and a sense of the composer's messages.
Recently, the orchestra of the Burgas Opera successfully started the year / after the break imposed due to the epidemic situation / with the concert conducted by Tsanislav Petkov - on February 4. In March, two concerts are planned, also under the baton of the young conductor - on March 12 and 19, in the hall of the Burgas Opera.

One of the most emblematic representatives of the modern Bulgarian conducting school, known as a conductor with high musical culture and respected for his unique conducting technique.
He graduated from the Bulgarian State Conservatory in Sofia in the class of Prof. Konstantin Iliev. From 1970 to 1971, as a young conductor, he took a master class in analysis, composition, and aesthetics with Prof. Olivier Messaye at the Paris Conservatory. In 1966 he began as a conductor of the Varna Philharmonic. In 1977 he was artistic director and chief conductor of the Burgas Philharmonic. At the beginning of 1981, he became conductor of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, and at the same time, he was chief conductor of the Tolbuhin Chamber Orchestra, which under his skillful baton managed to win the name of one of the best chamber ensembles in Bulgaria. From 1997 to 1999 he was artistic director and chief conductor of the Varna Philharmonic. Meanwhile, Maestro Dafov leads a master class with H. Faberman (USA). From November 2000 to May 2002 he was director and conductor of the Sofia Philharmonic. Known as a conductor in France, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Romania, Spain, Poland, Hungary. He makes recordings for BNT and BNR, as well as for French and Swedish radio and Spanish television. He is the author of three symphonies, "Morning Music and Serenades" (for string orchestra), "In profile and full-face" (for large symphony orchestra), vocal music for instrumental chamber ensembles, theater music.

Rosen Idealov is a graduate of the Varna Music School "D. Hristov ”and the NMA“ Prof. P. Vladigerov ”- Sofia, in the class of Prof. Sava Dimitrov on clarinet and of Prof. Konstantin Chilev - chamber music. Participates in master classes of Aurelian-Octave Popa in contemporary music and interpretation.
He is a laureate of the Seventh All-Bulgarian Competition for Singers and Instrumentalists (1984) in the specialties of clarinet and chamber music.
In 1999 at the International Competition "Music and the Earth" and at the International Competition "Young Virtuosos" 2006 - Sofia he was awarded a prize for pedagogical achievements.
In 2005 he received the Golden Five Lines Award for high artistic achievements and contribution to the spread of Bulgarian music.
In 2009 he received the Golden Lyre Award for excellence in performing arts and high pedagogical achievements.
In 2012 for the CD "Dilozi" and the concert - promotion for its performance he received the award "Crystal Lyre" of SMTDB in the category Chamber Music together with the cellist Georgita Boyadzhieva.
He teaches chamber music at the National Music Academy "Prof. P. Vladigerov ”, as a teacher of chamber music, orchestral playing, and clarinet at NMU“ L. Pipkov ”- Sofia.
Rosen Idealov has been actively performing for more than 30 years as a soloist and chamber musician at home and abroad - Italy, USA, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, Hungary, China, Korea, Romania, and others. He was a soloist of the best Bulgarian symphony, chamber, and brass bands. He has participated on the stage of the most prestigious international music forums and festivals - Wien Modern, Triest Prima, "Varna Summer", "Sofia Music Weeks", "Salon of Arts", "Apollonia", Musica Nova, "Sound and Communication - Sofia " and others.
Rosen Idealov's repertoire contains over 500 works from the Renaissance to the 21st century. He is a particularly sought-after artist of new music. He has made world and Bulgarian premieres of over 250 works, over a hundred of them written especially for him. He has recorded dozens of works for Bulgarian National Radio, Bulgarian National Television, and other television channels. Participates with contemporary music on 15 CDs. He has also made two solo CDs with works by Bulgarian composers. At the invitation of the Music Department of the University of Kansas (USA), he gave a lecture on the stages in the development of Bulgarian music, as well as master classes and concerts in Kansas and Pittsburgh. In November 2012 he was invited by Illinois Wesleyan University, where he gave lectures, a master class in clarinet and chamber music, and a concert tour with famous artists and educators from the university.
