On Tuesday, August 17, at 8.30 pm on the stage of the Summer Theater - Burgas, the ballet classic "Bayaderka" will present an original reading of the dramatic love story - directed and directed by Vessa Tonova. The ballet performance, which will bring incomparable aesthetic pleasure for fans of fine art, is in the calendar of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov", successfully realized for the fourteenth consecutive year by the State Opera - Burgas and Burgas Municipality.

The choreography of the performance "Bayaderka" is by the long-time prima of the Sofia Opera and Ballet Vesa Tonova, and the production is her debut as a choreographer. The scenography is by the world-famous artist Ivan Tokadjiev, and the costumes are the work of one of the best costume designers, unfortunately, he is no longer with us - Tsvetanka Petkova-Stoynova. The assistant ballet master is Galina Kalcheva, who is a tutor of the ballet troupe at the Burgas Opera, assistant director is Peter Tiholov.

In the roles on the stage of the Summer Theater tomorrow will be presented: prima ballerina Ivanina Ivanova - as Nikia / in early August she was brilliant in the roles of Odette / Odilia in "Swan Lake" to music by Tchaikovsky, and at the end of July debuted successfully as Pahita in the ballet of the same name by Minkus - the production is nominated for an event of the month in the annual ranking of the show "Eternal Music" on BNT /, Prime Minister-ballet dancer Emil Yordanov enters the image of Solor / “/. Polina Ivanova debuted in the image of Gamzati, in July she debuted with great success in "Giselle" in the lead role. The images of the Golden God and Magadavaya include Daniel Tichkov, Bramin - Svetlan Nikolov, Raja - Branimir Nedkov, Gamzati's Maid - Sofia Lovdzhieva. Yana Berduta, Anelia Ivanova, Natalie Ivanova, Iva Ovcharova, Sabina Koseva, Maria Todorova, Teodor Tsakov, Kiril Filipov, Stefan Tipikov and a ballet ensemble at the State Opera - Burgas also take part in the magnificent ballet performance.

"Bayaderka" reveals the tragic love story of the Indian dancer in the temple of Nikia and the warrior Solor. Their love angers the great Brahmin, who is secretly in love with the dancer, and Princess Gamzati, who is in love with Solor. The Rajah, Gamzati's father, promised his daughter Solor a husband. The vengeful princess hides a snake in a flower basket designed for Nikia. During the bayadere dance at a temple celebration, she was mortally bitten by a snake. The Brahmin offers an antidote to Nikia in exchange for her love, but she refuses. As she dies, she reminds Solor of his oath of eternal fidelity. Solor is devastated by the death of his beloved. Under the influence of opiates, he is transported to the Kingdom of Shadows, where he meets the spirit of Nikia. Returning to reality, he cannot shake the memory of the meeting. At the wedding of Gamzati and Solor, before the exchange of oaths of allegiance, the temple was destroyed by an earthquake. They all perish, and the spirits of Nikia and Solor finally gather in the afterlife.

The production of the State Opera - Burgas "Bayaderka" was awarded the Golden Muse Award at the ceremony of the Association "Association of Choreographers in Bulgaria", which was held in Hall I of the National Palace of Culture on the International Ballet Day - April 29, 2019. The Golden Muse was for staging and directing.
