05 november 2026 Music School Alumni as Soloists in a Concert at the Opera

The State Opera – Burgas has prepared an intriguing concert program, featuring talented young performers, for Friday, November 6, at 7:00 PM in the institution’s concert hall. This symphonic concert—showcasing students from the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National School of Music and Performing Arts in Burgas, all of whom are recipients of numerous national and international awards—marks yet another exciting presentation by the artistic ensembles of the Burgas Opera. Kalina Vasileva will take the conductor’s podium; having already delivered several successful performances with the Burgas Opera this year, she has now become a permanent member of its artistic team. The event promises to be a celebration of talent, characterized by striking stage presence and the unparalleled drive of youth. Vanya Zlateva, a recipient of the "Golden Necklace" and a Special Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers, will serve as the concertmaster of the Burgas Opera orchestra.
Under the baton of Kalina Vasileva, the students from the Music School—which celebrated its 65th anniversary this past March with two major concerts on the stage of the Burgas Opera—will demonstrate not only technical assurance in their interpretation of the works, but also a clear sense of purpose in their chosen professional path. This path reflects a unique blend of natural talent, focused ambition, wholehearted dedication, consistency, and deep commitment to the creative process. "Concerts like these are among the best, as they bring together youthful drive and long-standing professional experience. A symbiosis forms between the young soloists and the orchestra—one that brings great satisfaction and joy to everyone involved, both performers and the audience, through the shared experience of music. We are filled with the purest emotions and energy, which stay with us long after the event," said Maestra Vasileva before the concert in June, when she conducted the Opera orchestra accompanying soloists who were also students from the Music School. Following the undeniable success of that event a few months ago, the soloists at the upcoming concert are expected to once again captivate the Burgas audience with the technical mastery and creative energy characteristic of the younger generation.
The soloists for Friday’s concert will be: Vayana Nikolova (violin), a student of Lyudmila Ivanova; Lora Pehlivanyan (violin), a student of Momchil Enchev; Marina Yankova (cello), a student of Zhasmina Cherneva; Ulyana Nelyubova (clarinet), from the class of Hristo Todorov; Antonia Kondeva (bassoon), a student of Dimitar Madzharov; and Nikola Devedzhiev (trumpet), from the class of Svetoslav Vasilev.
The program for the symphonic concert will feature works by:
Joseph Haydn, Carl Maria von Weber, Carl Stamitz, Max Bruch, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, and Henryk Wieniawski. "Thanks to our partnership with the State Opera – Burgas, our students have the opportunity to perform regularly on a professional stage, receive guidance from the professional team, and enjoy free access to the Opera’s productions," stated the leadership of the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National School of Music and Performing Arts (NUMSI) in Burgas. In early 2026, an agreement was concluded between the leadership of the State Opera – Burgas and the "Pancho Vladigerov" National School, establishing a creative exchange across all disciplines; under this arrangement, students from the music school are entitled to attend all Opera events completely free of charge. Such initiatives foster continuity and offer significant benefits to both parties, facilitating an exchange of experience and creative energy. Those attending the concert on November 6th will see for themselves that the exceptional students of the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National School embody the very best qualities of the younger generation.
We wish the young performers the best of luck and many successful appearances on other major stages!
Tickets for the symphonic concert on November 6th can be purchased at the Opera box office, the "Chasovnika" (The Clock) ticket center (located in front of the Hotel Bulgaria), as well as through the Eventim and Grabo networks.
